Not really, E46 M3 is heavy, it is about 3500 curb at its lightest. F82 is bigger taller car, more downforce is required. Market demands bigger cars, all BMW is doing keeping up with that kind of demand, they have to make soccer mom sedan a M3, in my opinion it is a joke but if that is what rich guys in China want then BMW will make it and all we true BMW enthusiasts are saying oh no not another boat.

...or even better example. Wasn't the E46 M3 CSL like ~3100 lbs? There are tons of guys that have gone insanely fast on the nurburgring in that car.

It does have more aero though...big wing and big lip. But they could have a standard 3400lb M4 limited to 165 and a "highspeed" with wing and lip with a ton speed of ($#@! don't know the gearing) 180-ish - IF this were an actual issue.

Again, have to make it heavy is so silly. Using NASCAR as an example (which is intentionally limiting the advance of technology) just doesn't help. I've honestly never seen this argument made - ever.

$#@! my 04 STi went 156 and weighed 3200 lbs and was high as hell.

You don't have to make it heavy. That's absurd.

Absurd is a fun word to say out loud.
    Go on, do it. Absurd.
