    Ok...so power gains are similar to the JB4 or a Cobb with a protune. Maybe a little more power, but that's just being a little aggressive to get an extra ~20whp without doing other upgrades.
    @Mike@Renntech I'll be honest that price does seem extremely high considering the Cobb Flash is $900 and offers a handheld that can be used for other features including datalogging. What do you offer in terms of re-flashing/tuning for additional upgrades and doing custom tuning depending on the location the vehicle will be used in?

    See, basically what we are looking at is a the product of a very aggressive custom tune on one particular vehicle. So not only are those gains not going to be consistent using that same flash for other cars wherever they are, but it's not even safe or recommended.

    I'm sure you have all of this thought out, but I am simply expressing concerns others would have as well. We just need more info, any new product especially from a company with a great reputation is going to catch some attention. The price really adds to attention because we would want to know what the advantages are. From the information you've posted so far...there are only disadvantages seen. The way it feels now is if I were to send my ECU in to you (major pain to do in itself plus additional costs) and have you flash it with some tune you got off of a test car, and send it back to me. How is that any better than buying a Cobb and using an Off The Shelf aggressive tune? Except for with the Cobb you can datalog some street pulls, and make adjustments yourself, or go to a Cobb pro-tuner in your area. Or, Pro-Tuning Freaks e-tune.

    I'm sorry if it comes off as me being offensive, but I assure you I am doing nothing but trying to help and lay out all concerns and questions the majority of this platforms' users would have.

    I think the marketing audience is not on this forum. People that Buy Dinan, GIAC and Renntech typically wouldn't consider a BB Flash, Cobb or JB4. They just want to go into a facility and get their car coming out a few hours later with better performance. Most of these would probably come from other platforms that know that they had good luck with that tuner before. The Dyno sheet looks pretty close to a Cobb OTS Stage 1+ or 2+.

    Agreed, I don't think people that look at forums will actually buy DINAN, GIAC or now Renntech as first, there is a hassle of loading and unloading the tune, possible issues at dealership (maybe they will not be able to flash anything), and the price point is just not competitive when you consider JB4, BT cable and Cobb.

    I seem to remember a very vocal renntech tune user who switched to cobb because he couldnt get any more power with renntech.... whom who could that have been.

    Ok amigos Im coming to bat for RENNtech:

    2002 MCS last dynoed 2 yrs(@ 100k) before I sold it 3 yrs ago(5 yrs ago just in case) clicked at 197 whp w intake and 15% pulley(RENNtech Flash) was getting around 25 mpg city driving around 31 mpg/hwy.

    2011 335d (yes, DIESEL just in case you dont know) dynoed last month 318 whp and 425 lb/tq on the wheels (WAGNER IC increased 12 whp) RENNtech flash performed at Lake Park and car was dynoed in Puerto Rico the temp for that day was 90 degrees Fahrenheit

    Yes, its expensive but our car's are not Toyotas or whatever. You wanna play you have to pay!! But there is always alternatives, so if you can do it, do it, otherwise, if you cant. Then, dont $#@! and continue reading and enjoy this site.

    True Cobb, JB or others are cheaper but, RENNtech if Im not wrong gives you a warranty on your tune ONLY for 24 mo. My 02 MCS only had a reflash done cause MINI gave it an update flash and erased RENNtech's in 2005 and after that, it never went away!!.

    That dyno was done some time in March 2012, if I am not mistaken, on my 335is. I am Dimitri, I dont recall which Mike this is so please excuse, unless your new to the RENNtech team. Tomas, Lenny and Mr Hartmut know me very well, and I am also a customer.

    I was completely all stock except for the intercooler I had the Dinan FMIC. It was a long time ago, so I wouldnt expect anyone to remember that far back expecially all the cars that Lenny tunes and dynos.

    For a FBO car I have seen the same tune on @bme30 07 E92 put down 388 whp 430 wtq. It was Ryan , Lenny and myself. These numbers were in the non adaptive state ie Ryan took out his PROcede to compare with the RENNTech flash while it was on the dyno. Three pulls were done only for those ending numbers. I am pretty sure Ryan's car after it had adapted to the RENNtech tuning would have gotten closer to 400 whp.

    Keep in mind this is tuned for 93 octane

    Cobb maps are ported from a non IS N54. The maps were not tune exclusively around a 335is.

    RENNtech's tune in the right DA can break 11s or get low 12s, it all depends on the driver ie additional weight and experience driving the DCT. Here is my consistance 11s on the RENNtech tune. Excuse the music I got a little retarded with it :

    Everything is negotiable at such a price. I am not condoning that I agree with it even though years ago I would have paid for it just to stay away from using a piggy back

    The same tune was flashed on a non IS runing the infamous IJE0S ROM and made more power than mine, of course he was FBO.

    All your other points are valid, I do believe RENNtech has a Warranty policy like Dinan does if I am not mistaken, but maybe limited.

    Their tuner owns an E90 N54, and he is very good at what he does. Not only is a he a BMW enthusiast but he is very well multi versed with ECU tuning from other platforms including AMG.

    I would consider it something between Cobb's Stage 2+ Agressive and E30 maps

    For everyone else: So why did I go with Cobb AP in the end ? Simply put, i wanted more power and their was "risks" involved that was a concern IMO. I am already on my third drive shaft and 2 Chargepipe Click here to enlarge

    Could they have given me more power to where I am now, yes they could have if I pushed it, but I did not want to ruin my relationship with them.

    I also have the PTF E50 map, but now I have gone off on my own with my own tuning as I wanted to enable ALL the performance features on the 335is. I did not like the idea of the overboost being disabled, so I just reanable it with ATR and custom tuned my IS for E50 myself

    Renntech advertises on the entire network. Their specialty is obviously Mercedes but they do offer BMW products as well and they are solid. Members here have good results with their products. So if they want to advertise their N54 flash so be it they pay to do so.

    @BuraQ no one is doubting the results, I'm sure it's a very high quality flash. I just want to know what all you get for the price and feel I was fair in assessing the overall feelings anyone would have if they were to research tuning options. I mean in the end you are saying it is basically a COBB OTS map, which hey, that's great, competing with the best flash currently available. But why so much? What do they do for people when they upgrade? How can they adjust the tune from a remote location?

    You're right, people that are clueless about the aftermarket world such as a friend of mine who had a 335i a few years ago and did all Dinan are happy to pay the price and feel the performance. But I'd gladly take $1500 and flash someones car for them with a Cobb AP and turn a quick $600 profit assuming I don't have a wholesale account. I just want to know the difference and advantage. A warranty is a big deal, cause that means it's a better option for new or nearly new BMW owners, so that would be a big deal. Hopefully @Mike@Renntech and shed some light in that area.
    @Sticky I'm glad they posted it, and wish more vendors would be involved in the N54 platform, just wish there was more info. I understand he's a new guy, and I think some guys are being a bit harsh, I don't feel I'm harsh, just asking proper questions for information I feel should have been included. I mean, where's the sales pitch?

    Look Mike, I know you're doing your job, and copy and paste your product details from your website might work on 6spdonline.com or bimmerforums, or whatever, but I'm just giving you a heads up, that won't happen here. However, if you show you have a valid product on this forum, us members at bimmerboost like to spend lots of money on our cars, and I think any vendor that has a good product and comes out with supporting details is more than rewarded on this forum. Just ask Team MFactory.

    I wouldn't my car put down 369/419 on Cobb's Mustang with Stage 2+ with a curve that looked pretty similar to the Dyno they showed. I'm not knocking them as it's a pretty safe looking map with decent numbers perfect for the person that doesn't want to hassle himself with constantly logging and tweaking to get it set perfect.

    Was your dyno before or after adaptation to the tune ie you already put miles on the tune before dyno ? The dyno results in the OP are premature before adaptation.

    RENNtech's dyno which is a dynojet reflects similar numbers on a Mustang dyno. I did this cause i dont like dynojets which often read high, however, RENNtech dynoject reads low as it was on par with the Mustang Dyno I did at PROs tuning - another Cobb authorized tuner.

    In real world experience I have pulled on N54's runing Cobb Stage 2+ (not disregarding I am DCT) and except for one that was a 135i.

    So based on the real world performance results and dyno tests is the reason I said between stage 2+ Aggressive and E30 OTS maps.

    Went in with Stage 1+ for a run and then switched to 2+ with no previous driving on it.

    @BuraQ Have you considered more aggressive tires than NT555s? I have found almost all Nittos don't grip that well compared to some alternatives, especially their drag tires aren't the best, but still decent. I would like to see some ETs with proper tires!

    I actually gave up the NT555 for PSS tires, and the PSS are about done for on the rears. I like the PSS, havent really put them to use on the track yet, the times I visited the strip with them the track was $#@! prepped, so I never really got to really test them out, However for rolls, and wet roads they gripped damn well. Most important though the "ride comfort" is the best expereince I have ever had with a tire

    Buraq glad to hear from you I made the change from Hankook Ventus to PSS and DAMN it i cant replicate the swirving and screeching I had with the ventus these PSS grip like mother faulker, and tru on wet roads they're superb specially here in an island that rained almost 9 months last year. And yes they're quieter

    I virtually beat the hell out of the car with that tune and zero issues, tracked it every week at PBIR. What helped a lot is that RENNtech is able to increase water pump speeds. So my oil temps held at 220f - 230f and ECT just below 200f in 90f ambient temps on back to back WOT runs. This is one part of their tune that has a value as no other tuner that I am aware of, other than Dinan, can remap the water pump.

May have missed it but is the 420hp claim at the engine then, the dyno shows 379whp... which is great for stock 93 octane on a baseline of 270whp but not as crazy sounding as 420whp would be with that same baseline.

    I remember your car from back then the video's and claims caused all sorts of drama because it was way faster than anyone else could get at the time, especially with the DCT. Which was pretty cool I thought.

    Ya, when PSS are available they are the only tire I run. Amazing street tire IMO.
