E70 X5M S63 V8 before and after Eurocharged tuning dynos and review - +81 lb-ft of torque at all four wheels

I will first start out by saying that Eurocharged is a class act to deal with. Jerry and Phil have been incredibly supportive and responsive to me. I have to stress this dyno is extremely conservative. It's a "heartbreaker" Mustang dyno. It reads lower than any dyno I've ever used. The X5M was strapped down and tune loaded. Nothing else changed but the settings. Read below as there were some fairly substantial hp/tq differences. All pulls done in 4th gear.

    Results:

Stock: 428 horsepower, 415 lb-ft at all four wheels

Eurocharged Tuned : 455 horsepower, 496 lb-ft at all four wheels

Gain: 37 all wheel horsepower, 81 all wheel lb-ft of torque

I am fairly confident with driving the X5M to let the ECU learn the new parameters, the car would have continued to pick up additional power. I plan on heading back to the dyno next week for final numbers. Whether the settings impacted the numbers, or the ECU learning the new parameters, I will know after I redyno.

I did multiple pulls with the Eurocharged tune trying different settings. All runs were done with traction off after the M Settings were initiated. This was done by holding the traction button on dash for 5 seconds until beep is heard.

The next three setting pulls are shown in Dyno2

    First pull with tune :

    M Mode Settings:
    EDC: Sport
    DSC: Off
    Power: Sport
    466 / 482

This resulted in a very jumpy tq and hp curve. Again, not sure if this was because it was just loaded, or if the DSC off and traction off caused this.

Second pull with Eurocharged tune installed:
    Non M Settings
    Shifter pulled to Sport
Traction off : holding traction button on dash
Resulted in much smoother tq and hp curve
    462hp / 503tq

    Third pull with Eurocharged tune
    M mode settings
    EDC: Sport
    DSC: MDM
    Power: Sport
Shifter pulled to Sport and manually holding 4th gear

Each pull the truck made more power and I have a feeling if u would have driven it 20 miles for the ECU to learn the new settings, it would have gained more.

My wife actually complained about the truck not having the same low end grunt our previous X5 50i with Dinan Stage II had. I agreed completely with her, but after this time I am confident she will agree with an extra 80 lb-ft tq at 2500. In comparison, the 2012 put down 380/450 on the same dyno.

I am very happy with the tune. Once the weather breaks and the track opens, I will let you know the 1/4, 1/8 and trap speeds.

On a side now, while I was at the shop, my AMS Alpha 9 Motor, Turbos and Transmission motor showed up for my GTR so it was refreshing to see. Hope to make 900+hp / 800+tq on the same dyno.

Definitely cannot go wrong with this tune or Eurocharged. I am planning on having them tune my 550ix which is currently on a Dinan Stage II.

    @Jake@Eurocharged.com

Expect an article tomorrow as the front page has enough BMW action for now.

I'm not sure why the Admins adjusted this thread and put the incorrect numbers.

The dyno graph is a smoothed average of 3 runs with the last run as the ECU learned and the settings adjusted made 465 awhp and 506 awtq. I posted that single graph but somehow it was deleted.

I would apprexiate it if they can change it back since I cannot now.

Sorry I just went off the posted graph. It was not anything malicious.

If you have the graph showing 506 all wheel torque just post it and I'll edit it in.

No worries, the screen shot is posted directly above this.

I will I'll get a graph showing just the tune when I get back to STM.

    Thanks again.

I understand. I see the peak figures which add up to what you wrote I just wanted the graph to go with it as then it won't confuse people or look like figures are being inflated from the baseline when they can see the full graph. I hope that makes sense.

    X5M Eurocharged Tune Vbox 0-60 / 0-100 / 1/4 mile

I have been rather busy with my GTR Alpha 9 build, but finally got some Vbox numbers for the X5M with the Eurocharged tune. The only thing I wish I could do is get the LC up to 4,000 rpm.

    0-60 3.96 (3.8 with 1ft roll-out)
    0-100 9.64 seconds

Not bad at all for a 5500+ lb vehicle with me in it.

The next time I get it to the track, I will get it a 60-130.

Best track time to date 12.458 @111.2 with 2500 DA and 86 degrees - typical hot and humid upstate NY.

No, but it is something I can possibly possibly flash back to stock and make a few runs later in the season.

Yeah if possible a before/after on the strip is the best way to show the difference.
