In all seriousness, I am starting to wonder why we just don't have something like TUV. That way I know that aftermarket part isn't horseshi7, and it won't kill me and/or my family - and also would prevent the photo above. I am not saying I like when more and more restictions are put into place, but if it's between this and that, I would take that. The last thing I want is to buy a blower for my M3, then have some hippies shut down any chance of service in the future.

It's not quite as bad as one would first think just reading the headline...

The guy has been waiting 20 years to become a citizen. I'm by no means saying that excuses him crossing the border illegally and being an illegal alien. However, it does indicate just how $#@!ed up the Feds are if a kid who's kept his nose clean and passed the CA bar exam has to wait 20 $#@!ing years to get an application granted for even a visa.

Imagine if all the people listening to our phone calls and watching me type right now were instead doing something the Federal Gov't was actually supposed to do based on the Constitution. The whole immigration issue wouldn't even be an issue - we'd have secure borders and a half-way efficient immigration program for good people to follow.

Agreed that is much better than the headline but he is still technically illegal.

Yeah, I agree. Instead of fixing the problem, the California solution is to just gloss it over and further treat illegals as residents/citizens. Typical thinking of the elites who only follow the laws they like, enforce the ones they believe are best, and create new ones without regard to the Constitution, basic human rights, or even common sense.

I'm a farmer and I understand that comment completely. What's at issue here is who you vote for. If liberals (yes Democrats) are in power this is what you get. Stop voting for them because you like this or that social issue they represent. They pass laws that empower bureaucratic agencies like CARB with total unaccountable to the voter power. They place socialist judges on state and federal benches that make rulings like preferring a stupid non-indigenous fish to human beings in allocating water resources. STOP voting for liberals! That means Democrats especially and anyone who wants to add more government to our over governed society. Wake up.

Wow... i just saw this. I feel bad for terry and the turbo bmw community (for missing out on his great products). This could seriously bring him down. I agree with the statement about wanting to see his sales revenue so they can issue a fine.

The cost to fight this with lawyers is going to be big.

Carb is no joke at all. I have to assume we don't hear of this happening to other tuning companies because they are either to small or they go through the necessary legal motions to state they sell products for off highway use only.

    This sucks..

Here's the problem with the EU type regulations - they stunt and delay products to the consumer. Yes, I'm sure it ensures additional safety, but it is also a huge pain in the ass and extremely expensive. These are barriers to entry and not good qualities to stimulate entrepreneurship and innovation IMHO.

Yep, good way to say it. My friend and I were just saying how much stifling is done by the US Government. His dad owns a small restaurant in Florida, and they (not sure, but a GOV agency) came in, and told him he had 4 too many tables. Each of these tables holds 6 chairs... He only serves breakfast; think about this, that's 24 people that are no longer able to sit and eat dinner (meaning spend money - and of course help him build business). They don't see it all - they just want their hands in everything. Fine the $#@! out of him, fu** everyone else. It's bull$#@!.

Don't get me wrong safety of people is of the utmost concern, but it's getting to the point where we can't do anything without permission/forms to fill out/monies to be paid... That ain't freedom my friend.

I am thinking so - must have been fire code... Oh, and I talked to him after this - he put in an extra door for the waitresses/kitchen - and didn't get a permit. Fined for this also. Click here to enlarge

Again, I understand having 100 people in a 10 square foot place is bad news bears, but it just seems a bit fishy - the place has been open 10 years. His dad is pissed.

They are up your ass everywhere. Some guy in Nevada is getting fined or his cows confiscated or something because they wandered over and grazed on government land. The cows read the wrong signs apparently.

Yah this is nut-so. When I was riding down 5south I saw all these farms with these massive signs about a fake water crisis etc. I guess related to this kind of crap. I think sometimes people forget that a huge portion of CA is really a dessert.
