Another new record! 335is DCT WR, lol with video

Back at OSW today in the 80 degree heat. 11.58 @ 118 mph with 1.7 60 ft. I'm on Nitto Nt555 street tires, not DR. My trap is down from Fri night's run due to heat. (stock I/C and software is pulling timing at end of run due to IAT)

In the video below I'm running a Nat'l champ in his Duramax diesel, 4WD and on slicks.

Trap speed took a bit of a hit on the better 60 foot. I would have expected a larger ET gain though with that 60 foot.

    Warmer out on this run?

Times like great, nice work. On the other hand extremely confused as why someone living, driving, and racing in such a warm weather area would leave the stock FMIC in place. Just shooting yourself in the foot with IAT's

i remmember reading somewhere how to proper launch a DCT
    you step on the brake
and hit the gas pedal 3 or 4 times with the kickdown button behind, that way the boost rises, and on the 4th time you just leave the brake and take off.

Thanks everyone! Yes to properly launch the DCT is to engage LC and repeatedly hit kickdown maintaining LC and keeping Rpm around 2500. At first yellow on tree come off brake and feather throttle. I will be doing upgraded FMIC within month.

I missed the weather figure. That explains a lot.

He needs to try again in cooler weather. 60 degrees and under should get him ~11.4.

There is an easier way, with a smoother momentum, well of course the way your doing it now is great when racing someone else, will PM what I do, your going to laugh when I tell you. I thought you would have figured it out by now.

There is no specific count, the version method you have explained can error in releasing the car before the green light. If you didnt notice the OP left before the green. His reaction time is "-.005" not ".005". This is what gave him his 11.58. If his reaction time was ".005" that would have been 11.6ish instead.

You can sit there and get a 5 second reaction time and it's not added to your ET...

What, you're talking about mashing it and how the revs go up?

What? Reaction time isn't factored in to an elapsed time. Drag Racing 101.
