2016 - Century of BMW event question to ALL

I am in the process of organizing a event in 2016 to celebrate 15 years of the E46 M3.

This got me wondering, would other BMW owners be interested in a weekend of events organized and run by enthusiasts the weekend before the E46 M3 event I am planning?

This would be a three day event with vendor showcases, rides in track cars, and just a over all fun event. Please note I am seeing if there is interested in a event and if you are willing to drive to a once in a life time event.

A ROUGH idea is meeting in Austin for a weekend of social activities and a day drive and or track day at Circuit of the Americas.

Again this is to see if there is serious interest in something like this and if you will make a long drive for a major one time event.

I am aware of the 2016 CCA official event in Monterey. This is not about CCA.

Organizing events is tough man. I say go for it if you think you can get a large group.

Funny part is I can organize the event with no issues. I just want to make sure people are even interested.

Agreed. It is a ways off but right now if the thought of going does not sound fun then not worth doing.

If the event is planned and you could attend when the time comes would you go?

I'd go if it was local but Austin is way too far.

Even for a once in a life time event you wouldn't make the trek? What if it was a free track day?

I'm in Florida, but already sounds interesting to me. I mean it's a ways off, but with a few more details, free track day, that'd be pretty cool. Maybe like a track day and BMW vendor day with tents setup and all that good stuff, then a 2-day event with a dig or roll, burnout contest, etc. all BMW. Kinda like a bimmerfest but with more actual driving and racing going on.

I'm not sure how well targeting the e46 M3 might be, but a general BMW event the week prior should do pretty well as long as advertised well, not just on the two or three major forums

I have a lot of irons in the fire at the moment so I can't comment on things yet. But as of next year I will have more details out there for people to plan. Right now it is to fact find as well as start the rumor mill going. So spread the word please =)
