This is what an E36/8 Z3 M with an S85 V10 swap looks like accelerating from 0 to 211 miles per hour

S85 V10 in a Z3? Yes, please! What you have here is basically a German take on a Viper with the 5.0 liter S85 motor out of the E60 M5 under the hood of the lightweight Z3 M Coupe. The S85 V10 motor is one of the best engines to ever come out of BMW's M Division and it is a shame it was never paired with a lightweight chassis. The owner managed to make it fit in the engine bay as the build pictures below show and paired it to the 7-speed SMG-III transmission.

Just take a look at the video to the see the end result. 211 miles per hour in no time.

Bad ass. But I have to imagine the weight distribution on that car is ruined now.

It's worth the penalty on the nose for that glorious sound alone.

Doubt the weight distribution is skewed too badly as that motor most likely sits back a bit further than the s54. Probably only a couple percent.I would imaging the SMG and associated gear add some pounds though

The S85 is a bit heavier than the S54 though.

    S54B32 327.4 lbs 333 hp 262 lb-ft
    S85B50 385.8 lbs 507 hp 384 lb-ft (Al V10)

only a thirty pound difference if those weights are correct.

I don't know how accurate the website is but I use it as a reference point for potential motor swaps.

The S85 is supposed to be over 100 pounds heavier than the S65 so I don't know how accurate those are.
