Post proTUNING Freaks || Billet Motor and Transmission Mount Kit

We are proud to announce the first of many product releases that we will be making in the coming weeks and months.

We would like to present our proTUNING Freaks Billet Motor and Transmission Mount Kit. Manufactured 100% in-house and tested on the streets as well as some of the most competitive road courses on the east coast. After 1000s of miles of testing we are ready to bring these to the market.

The proTUNING Freaks Billet Motor and Transmission Mount Kit is designed to ensure your motor stays in place and your transmission doesn’t torque under heavy acceleration allowing for more direct shifts, more torque and power being transferred to the wheels, and an overall more direct and powerful feeling drivetrain.

We did a small beta release privately to allow some customers to have a chance to put these through the paces as well. We have a limited number of kits left in stock. When these run out we will be ending the introductory sale. Please check out our website for pricing and stock information.

If you would like to setup a group buy in the future please email us at sales@protuningfreaks.com.

We look forward to more product announcements in the coming weeks and months.

Bottom line is NVH will increase when installing the kit as a whole. However, engine mounts on their own, due to N54 being a silky smooth inline 6 engine, will introduce no NVH over OEM that we could feel daily driving. Adding transmission mounts will introduce some added NVH over OEM rubber mounts but the car remains very streetable and well mannered in that respect even with them in place. I'd personally say daily driving on 19" wheels is way more of an annoyance than having this kit installed.

Ahem. the tranny mounts take 5 min. The engine mounts are a different story. I had to drop my exhaust, disconnect the dps at the turbos to get the passenger side in. It was a beating. 1 hour with a beer break is not an accurate description.

Another neg to solid mounts many don't consider... Tranny is more difficult to remove. Could be considerably more difficult.

Guys at our shop do work really fast so I guess 1-2hrs would be more appropriate for most people. There is no need for the tranny to come out for this mount kit to be installed. Two screws and the tranny mounts with the support backet come right out as far as I recall.

Decent trans mounts are a no brainer for MT or AT. Less important on the AT but there’s no question I find WOT shifts to be firmer than before with better mounts in place. OE mounts are usually shot by 50K, when you pull them you’ll see how pliable they are.

What I meant above is that with the solid motor mounts engine doesn't move and tranny removal becomes much more difficult. Many don't consider this until they have to pull it. Just something else to think about if considering these.

I see. I don't see it as an issue unless you're pulling the tranny out every 5-10k Click here to enlarge

Yea, doing this on a lift, having a support jack, toolbox right next to you, room to move around (so an actual shop) certainly would've helped you significantly. Having someone that has done it a number of times before like our shop guys helps immensely as well. Our guys get the downpipes out in 15-20mins Click here to enlarge Then they usually take a break haha Respect to you though for DIY-ing your engine mounts on jack stands

Just picked up a set for the shop car, (Thanks Jake!). Soon as its going back together I will post install pics and an on road review of the added vibration or noise if any. I am going to be running the motor mounts only, and keeping my uuc tranny mounts, as I had stiffer tranny mounts in the past and it was very noticeable.

None. If anything it will keep it from torque twisting which always helps.

Has anyone tried these out with a SMFW?

Wondering just how bad the SMFW chatter would be with both engine and transmission mounts.
