    JB4/FFTEC Single Turbo 60-130 Results

    Hey guys,

Was able to head by Mexico this morning in our 135i on my way to the market and finally got a pretty clean 60-130 run in.

Mods are the JB4 (with special ST firmware & flash), FFTEC 5862 top mount kit, BMS methanol injection, and various other bolt on parts.

The car is in daily driver trim. E30 fuel, 245/45 drag radials (lowered tire pressure to 24psi), seats out but no major weight reduction effort yet, and the quiet OEM 2.75" muffler (cut out closed). For good measure I did raise boost from the 20psi I've been running to 22psi. Click here to enlarge

With straight race gas running 25psi, 100# removed from the car, and going up to a -2% slope, I see faster times ahead. As it is though I think 6.60 is a new N54 automatic trans world record.

That's flying - nice job! I love how you are very quick (no pun intended), and transparent, in rolling out your results. Kudos.

As long as I close the throttle a bit before the up-shift it completes the shift. Definitely on borrowed time though.

Very impressive Terry! I know you run the 17" kosei k1's. Have you considered going with some 1 series specific Apex arc-8's? They come with a better offset for 1ers at 62 so you can fit up to a 285 in the back, I think a few people have even got 295's to fit with shaved fenders. I wish they had them in 17's but for a regular 1 they only offer 18's. They do have some for the 1m in 17's but the offset is way to aggressive for the 135i fenders.

Thanks. The thought has crossed my mind. But I really love those K1s. For daily use I think this car is as fast as I need it at ~20psi anyway. It's track days where I'll want the extra grip. And I've got another set of K1s with wider and stickier hoosier slicks I can use when the need arises. Click here to enlarge

Ok cool. I tried running some wheels with the same offset as the Koseis from e90 on my e82 and even with just a 255 they were just barley sticking past the fender flare and would rub over the smallest dips in the road. But since you would only be putting wider rubber on at the track you'll be fine.

Pretty much this 135 with a bit more boost and transmission fixed, should beat most SC m3's that don't have over 30-40k into engine builds and custom superchargers.
