If I remember it didn't allow him to crank up the power so much in the high end much he was able to get like 630 Ft lbs. in the mid range.

In for flow comparison results! (stage 1 and 2 as well??) - numbers would help sell these things, even if they're not dyno/logs, i'm sure many people agree that more flow is more flow Click here to enlarge

yeah the stock frames really don't let it breathe higher at all.. but i'm 99% sure his torque record still stands, as well as his stock frame turbo POWER record?

LOL, that is a M50 head - we had that cool pic labeled as a N54 so it went on FB by accident. Too late now.

I will post a proper thread this morning - it even has video ;-)

AFAIK: We are the only BMW specialist in the world that we know offering CNC ported BMW heads for sale.

Its good that it is available and it flows more...but blindly assuming it will do anything for you would be a costly experiment. Unless the head is more restrictive than the turbo turbine(s), clearly won't be the case with any stock frame turbos, increased head flow doesn't help. You need to find out what size turbo is required to make head flow the bottle neck and not the turbo. This is done via testing: put high flow head on using X size turbo= no gain, put high flow head on using Y size turbo= no gain, put high flow head using Z size turbo=gains seen. From there you market head to be used with X size and up only turbo. Point being you DO need to see dyno numbers not just flow numbers.

Since everything above is flow bench tested, mind throwing up the numbers of a few options for posterity? Looks like solid work. If only I had the funds to go stage 3, a shortblock by ABR and a VAC head would be in my future.

If you want to give me about an hours worth of work to install and test a product that would allow me to change post dates and times it is.

It may be easier to copy/paste your post into mine as a quick solution.

I'm going to have to disagree here. There a very small number of shops that have the equipment VAC does. I am quite sure they have over a million dollars just in CNC machines. I saw the CNC head up close at Bimmerfest, quite a work of art!

well dzenno got more power/torque.. yeah the slight comp drop with the thicker head gasket may have been some of the reason, but the headwork HAD to be part of it Click here to enlarge

Not all turbos will hit the pressure ratios required for X flow through the stock head efficiently... what I mean is not everyone uses gtx compressors for huge psi efficiently. The head will help in these instances as well. You could max the stock or hybrid turbos flow without needing a new map sensor or creating as much heat, so there's a little power in that alone especially for peep on $#@!gas.
