    Blackstone report: 2009 M3, 72k miles

I've been dreading this based on other data that I've seen, but I feel this is pretty good news.

    A few caveats:
    1) I'm not 100% sure on the oil change interval, I'm pretty sure its around 10k miles though. I bought it at 68k miles and the dealer had not done an oil change yet. I changed the oil (over to 0w40) when the light told me to.

    2) I have no idea of the complete history of this car. I figure I may as well get a BMW service history on it soon.

    3) I no longer have any reservations about strapping the blower on the car. Now I'm just waiting on the tune from Underground Tuning.

    What blower are you getting?

A bearing upgrade might give you some peace of mind. You might want to send in another sample after 10k or so.

I've got a VF540 sitting in the garage. It has a 100mm pulley, which is a bit slimmer than the stock one. Should run ~4.5psi with test pipes. I'll be doing a custom front mount after about a year and bumping the boost up. The goal prior to an engine build is a 125mph E93.

Agreed and I will be monitoring it closely. I'd rather be in this position than in one where I need bearings immediately. When it's time to do bearings, I'll most likely be doing a simple low CR build of the motor. Click here to enlarge

If you're DCT you'll hit that with meth, higher boost, IC, and race gas. You may want a retune.

Swap the oil and run 3k more miles and test again...that high lead reading might be a fluke but I'd want to run another sample before the SC install

I agree and I'm quite certain that it is. I'd not be surprised if it were running crap for oil or some other additive considering how 'well' the rest of the car was taken care of. Case in point: My passenger-side PS2 is now showing the belts while my driver side is fine. The wear is on the outside of the tire, there is no rubbing going on. Alignment is fine too. Pretty sure dumbass was doing burnouts in it

Lots of swirl marks, bug etchings, etc.

The fact that there's literally NO accompanying metal with the lead tells me this is either a fluke or a bad sampling. With a build date of 02/09 I'd expect to see copper pretty high too, but there's nothing there.
