My piano covers of Imagine Dragons, Billy Joel, Brian McKnight, etc. - updated daily!

Some people would probably raise an eyebrow at my username on a car forum, but I've been playing since I was 5, so piano was a pretty big part of my life. I finally got around to setting up a couple cameras to record some decent video and audio and started uploading to Youtube. Check them out!

Impressive... Piano is something I've always wanted to learn but my parents couldn't afford to send me to lessons. Both of my daughters enjoy music and will learn piano.

The first person on this forum to ever show talent in pressing keys.

It's nice to see the interests and talents of people behind the screen names.

My parents hired a piano professor from Europe to tutor me growing up and it basically amounted to being forced to sit in front of a piano for hours a day. I hated the damn thing but now I wish I actually put in some effort.

What I learned from that though is I won't be forcing my kids to play instruments so I can live vicariously through them. You can't force the enjoyment of music on someone. It's a personal thing.

Agree... It's on there own terms. I have a nice Yamaha piano that sits in the toy room and they play on it all the time and my oldest showed interest so we signed her up for lessons once a week. Her teach is young (early 20s) and my daughter really likes her, she actually has fun. So it's a good experience and we don't force her to sit for hours at a time playing. She's 7 and we take that into consideration with regard to her attention span at this age. Fun watching her learn. Hopefully she stays with it and if not we'll take a break and visit it again as she gets older.

Next up in Billy Joel's New York State of Mind by request from my father-in-law. It's hard to believe that I wasn't even familiar with such an awesome song until I was in law school and a classmate asked me to learn and play it. It is tricky in parts to faithfully reproduce the original as a solo piano version without any vocals, sax, bass, drums, etc., but after more than a couple "takes," here's what I came up with. Hope you enjoy it. Please subscribe on YouTube, and if you enjoyed it, please post it up on other forums or on your Facebook for your friends to see. With your help, we can take my channel's view count from the thousands to the millions!
