I can't imagine those turbos will last long running that much boost up top. Are you running a backend and which one?

Why not taper your boost a little up top? Unless your upgrading and you don't care about your stockers.

Clean log. I like the way you beat the TD03's like a redheaded step child. Makes the Bronco's loss look less painful.

So the real question here: Would you make more power by running less boost and more ignition advance?

Generally that can only be determined on the dyno. You may actually be losing power by running such high boost, with such low ignition timing. It's all about finding out what makes the motor the most happy and consistent. I would personally back things down a bit and work with Terry on what has been the most consistent for him. No sense in burning up your stock turbos when you could probably make the same amount of power running lower boost up top, but with more ignition advance. It gets to the point where adding 1-2 psi of boost literally makes no more than 5 hp, which is really not worth the added stress on the engine.

If you were running E85, it would be a different story.

I know, but from the log my timing is not low, also i shift at 5900rpm above that the boost will drop

Timing is not an indication of power. Boost is not an indication of power. If the extra boost is not increasing power, you are just making your car more sensitive to octane and likely to detonate/damage something in the engine. The same can be said for increasing timing past MBT, you are just creating excess cylinder pressures that aren't increasing your power output.

When you want to max out your stock turbos, you really need to be on a dyno to see where the risks stop being worth the (lack of) rewards.

@135idct datazap please. These screenshotted JB logs give me heart palpitations.

Boost doesn't look bad, you can run 20+ PSI in the midrange without blowing up your stockers & you're reducing boost up to redline like you should. Advance doesn't look bad either. If I were you I'd leave in the low-end boost and then start tapering off more aggressively at redline to hit 13+ degrees of timing. You should be able to target more aggressive timing below 5k w/ 20PSI already without knocking.

I'd like to see datazap so we can take a look at exact figures Click here to enlarge

Man, you are ballsy. You have direct port, he doesn't. Why push things so hard when you cant (A) Monitor knock on all cylinders (B) ensure equal meth distribution for all cylinders...

I could see why you are willing to push your personal setup so hard, you atleast know that each cylinder is getting plenty of meth, but the rest of us losers are just hoping and praying Click here to enlarge

IIRC, PWM is WGDC in Jb logs. Seeing that he is above 80, makes sense.

He's not even close to 15 degrees of timing, so I think it's pretty conservative. I'm suggesting running 10 degrees flat, instead of ramping up timing. There's no reason -not- to run more aggressive timing in lower RPMs.

If his WGDC is above 80 he needs to drop his target down for that RPM.

Agreed with @uniter. OP is certainly not over-timed based on that log. Probably requesting too much boost but that’s separate. I don’t think timing is his issue.

Hell Cobb E30 targets upwards of 13 degrees upstairs, and I wouldn’t consider that map “aggressive” in the grand scheme of things.
