    E30 CABRIO V12

    Well small update

    decided to sell the S38B38 after complete rebuild http://alpina.123.is/photoalbums/251991/

    i had bought a 750 with a fellow and me and my buddy split the car,, i got the V12 M70B50 drivetrain etc ,, he parted the car

    I wanted the engine to be as good as possible,, i am a fan of V12 ,, Bmw and thats it

    so i took the engine apart aaaaaaaand, let the show begin...


    new waterpump,,+ 2 set of pulleys +wheel
    all gaskets,,VICTOR REINZ or OEM..

    All bolts/nuts new.. except crank rod+ camshaft

    Sv.H-Motorsport solution,, made by Max Lumens and imported by FATANDRE idea maker
    this is a genius solution if/possible replacement for oem intake gaskets,, you use the oem,, but these are 3mm thick precise cut out of silicone and goes to head and under intake manifold((oem cost the same as a week holiday on a beach))

    When my gearbox arrive,, it will be cleaned, etc etc and as soon as possible bolted on the engine and in to the shell

    The lenght of the M70 is similair... the weight is more,, the wide angle is not as much as the V8,,,,, M70 is only 60° and the engine itself is very compact ,, when you look at the pictures it looks HUGE,, but the intake manifold looks like it is a lot bigger than it really is,,
    ofcorse it will be narrow,, but it have been done sometimes before this swap,,, no worry,, and when you open the hood and the V12 shows its glory ,, you will feel the inner pleasure with your self........ ahhhhh a V12,,,,,,,,, no engine will beat that,, a V12 is the greatest of them all,, not maybe the highest output ,, but for sure the biggest boner between human legs,, and mated to the S6S 560G,, most likely the rarest gearbox from BMW ,,,, everything that was done can be justified

    What else do you need to make it fit? The s52 is pretty easy and straight forward. Does this transmission fit? Do you need special mounts for it, this is so beautiful. Nothing will beat a V12 Mhmm.

    None,,, (( i guess)) as the bellhousing of the 4HP24 is bigger,, and i mounted the transmission in the car

    I think the M70 is the most underestimated engine from the this decade running on STANDALONE i am sure it will deliver a stunning power compared to many other engines in the similair engine-volume range ,, 300 and 340+tq on the crappy oem electronic is not bad

    OK,,, S62 is 100 more cavalinos ,, i know that ,, it also has ITB,, great responce and 50nm in tq,,
    i think also the S62 is one of the greatest BMW engine that is so misunderstood or underestemated,, have a look vs S65,, new engine,, REALLY expensive,, 20 more ponies and 100nm less in tq ,, and an electronic that a data master must figure out to get it talk to old BMW wiring system,, i can´t get why folks are considering putting a S65 vs S62 as a swap choice

    one thing that many have not figured out is that the M70 is an ALUMINIUM block.. and AL,, have 2,7 gram at cm3 vs ~~ 8gram to steel,, if all extra weight is taken out of the M70,, the balance is IMO very close,,to M30,, S50,, S38
    M70 is a 60°engine vs 90° on M/S 6x so the wide of the M70 is a lot less,,,,, it is the intake manifold that makes it looks so HUGE,, but it isnt,, i can put the engine incl transmission from underneath,,,,,, that is great,, and IMPOSSIBLE with BMW V8 engine........ and one last thing that will smoke the grin of all faces,, M70 is a V12 engine,, beat that when you open the bonnet

    I know for sure it is not as powerful engine as the S62,, the exhaust port is for sure the worst development in engine history ,, EVER,,,,,,,,,, made by BMW ,, i am so sure the night before the final decision all BMW engineers at the engine-department must have been at OCTOBERFEST,, but it is smooth ,, and lenght of the enginer is as M20 or M5x,, + the pulleys in front

    but when boosting,,,,,,, i am almost sure that very few BMW engine will beet the M70 if we go on same pressure etc etc
    as the 5.0 Liter speaks for it self

    I consider the S65 tremendously superior to the S62. It offers more power at a much lighter weight and also has a better high revving architecture. Additionally, room to expand the displacement to 4.6.

    In Finland it have been done,, many years ago

    a guy on bimmerforums.. Mister V12 have an E34 with M70 boosted,,,,,,,,,,, 1200 ponies

    also an E30 have V12 boosted ,over 1000 ponies

    both cars are in Norway

    Sachs x 2 most likely the 2 titans in each class of its own
    B10 BT clutch is the stiffest 240mm i have tried so far vs other 240mm but is made for DualMass flywheel ((Sachs 765 press is also heavy strong and stiff but made for Singlemass))
    and then Sachs 280mm V12 clutch made for BMW,,,,,,, pretty much not the same size
    the 240mm clutch bearing is almost a joke compared to the V12 280mm :
