    Aftermarket Intake Manifold

Well, lookey what we have here.

"So it’s been over a year since we created this model and it’s now time that we move to the next step. KAIZENSPEED / KStuned.com has a 335i with functioning supplemental port injection and we’d like to move forward with casting this intake manifold. But the market would need to support 100 units to support a production run. Surely there’s 100 people/teams/groups that are annoyed at the relatively low power ceiling of the N54?"

We've talked about them before, but it looks like they stay pretty low key. They were at one of the West Coast roll racing events a few months back with their single turbo powered N54 running supplemental PI.

This... may call for an article:

    N54 Port Injection
1,000+ Horsepower Capable | Supports Alternate Fuels | Unlimited Engine Control Strategies

So it’s been over a year since we created this model and it’s now time that we move to the next step. KAIZENSPEED / KStuned.com has a 335i with functioning supplemental port injection and we’d like to move forward with casting this intake manifold. But the market would need to support 100 units to support a production run. Surely there’s 100 people/teams/groups that are annoyed at the relatively low power ceiling of the N54?

We’ve been watching this market closely and determined that port injection with consistent, reliable control is a requirement for big, reliable power. Port injection can provide many benefits that are not going to be discussed here. The purpose here is to gauge interest in a port-injection intake manifold for the BMW N54 engine.
So we ask that you please share this post and share these photos. Please share generously.

Post this on the forums and discuss. Send the screenshots to your friends, fellow-enthusiasts, tuners and race teams. Criticize us, encourage us, engage us in any way you need. But please don’t ignore it.

@Sticky, not sure if it goes against your policy on vendor accounts, but why not reach out to them and ask for pictures/vids/details of the functioning PI setup and single turbo kit and front page it? I imagine it would definitely draw some attention; i haven't seen their setup posted anywhere.

If they're interested they usually come to me. I'll write something up and dig a little bit considering they said to engage them.

Trying to think of advantages over a spacer block from a cost/benefit perspective. Better injector angle, no cylinder one bump maybe, dunno. Need more info.

Hey, I'm for anything out there, but what troubles me a bit is that they apparently have a ST running around that's been to events as mentioned by @lulz_m3 but how come we never heard of this car? If their own car isn't doing anything impressive then I can't see spending money on their products. However, if this proves to be work I'll be all over it.

    That mani looks pretty.
If you get 50 people lined up for the defivfab one it'll get made with a fuel controller that's only a few hundred.

Kaizenspeed's single turbo made ~600whp IIRC and they tune using the AP. Not sure if they're using a megasquirt or split second fuel controller or something similar to drive the injectors.

600whp? on full e85? If not on full e85 and that is the best they've done then I don't see the improvement...

I think it was 93. Keep in mind that all single turbo kits running similarly sized turbos are going to make similar top end power. So it won't be long until there are several kits offering ~600whp so what will separate them is quality, fit, finish, spool, tuning, etc...Peak horsepower numbers are just one of the numerous things to consider when choosing a kit.

Standalone on fuel. I wonder what type of window the PI sprays on. Actually, I wonder a lot of things about this manifold. Nice it keeps the stock charge piping route, but that design is certainly not “best” if we’re just talking efficiency of the mani.

Well, of course, but I don't completely agree with peak power, as a poor designed mani will never reach same peak power either as a well designed one

True, but you get my point. I'd rather have a turbo that makes 640whp and is spooled at 3.5Krpms than one that makes 650whp but doesn't spool until after 4Krpms.
