    Man, what a sick car I love the Z4's so much. I should have at least tried fitting in one...but I'm 6'4''....I didn't think there was much hope...

    This top mount turbocharged E85 Z4M shows what BimmerBoost is all about

    This vehicle belongs to BimmerBoost member basar13 and it definitely embodies the spirit of what we are about here. The Z4M features the S54 motor that is well known from the E46 M3 but the E85 Z4M models use a different ECU than the E46 M3 which complicates turbocharging the motor. The now defunct Horsepower Freaks was getting into this market but those who sought them out for a turbo solution for their Z4M were unfortunately left without support when HPF closed its doors.

    That did not deter basar13 who just kept right on going with his build. This is a stock motor build with a Precision 6766 at 9 psi. Engine management is done courtesy of a Haltech PRO2000 unit. Keep in mind this car is tuned on 91 octane pump fuel.

    The Z4M is already a fairly light car but this one has been lightened quite a bit to the tune of shedding ~400 pounds. How does a 2750 pound curb weight sound with a turbocharged S54? Well it sounds like a car that deserves to be featured.

    Check out @basar13's well edited video below and much respect to him for continuing to push forward with his project, HPF or no HPF. Expect a built motor and a lot more power to come soon.

    It's just a different ECU model. It's newer, faster, different encryption I think too.

    My buddy just told me it has like a dual-core CPU that can do 25 mHz, way faster than the one you get in an E46 M3. Or dual-chip, something of that nature. I'm sure the extra encryption was no accident Click here to enlarge
