Go to new post doesn't work for redirected threads

I only browse the forums using New Posts and then the "Go to first new post" button

every so often I get this message
    Nugs
, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

    1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
    2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
    3. If you area guest vendor, you may not use the PM system, post links, use a custom avatar, or use a custom signature. To remove these restrictions and become a supporting vendor, contact administrator@bimmerboost.com

I think this is because the thread has been moved and redirected. Two example are
    http://www.bimmerboost.com/showthrea...orts-Photo-Log
    http://www.bimmerboost.com/showthrea...Brake-Specials
Which is where I put it together as Sticky posted

It's because the thread is on another site on the network.

To get around this click on the thread name and not go to new post.

Additionally, you can browse from GermanBoost to eliminate the error completely.

Regarding fixing it so it allows you to go to new posts between domains, that does not appear to be technically feasible. I could probably get it to work by changing go to first unread post to go to last post but then you won't be picking up at the right spot in the thread necessarily.

The best solution is the two click solution. Click on the name of the thread and it will take you to the thread and then click view first unread post.

Unfortunately since multiple domains sharing a single database is not default functionality we are working outside the framework. I'll see if I can get a developer to fix this but I can't guarantee it.

I do browse from German Boost as I used to get that error a lot more when browsing from Bimmerboost.

I didn't know you could do this
The best solution is the two click solution. Click on the name of the thread and it will take you to the thread and then click view first unread post.
so will just do that from now on.
    Thanks.

If you got that error on GermanBoost the only way you can get it is if you were trying to get into one of the vendor forums on another site. Likely the FFtec thread.

    Looks like this works now!
The go to new post button will now take you from German Boost to Domesticboost, Britishboost etc.

I'm surprised you caught this so quickly. Yes, issue is resolved.

Took some really freaking creative work (and a ton of $).

    This is now happening again.
I typically go to http://www.germanboost.com/forum.php and use the 'new Posts' function.

I get "Nugs, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons" etc
when I try to follow a link to another domain.

Should I go to http://boostaddict.com/forum.php instead?

Are you logged in on GermanBoost? Make sure you are first. I tried redirects out today and they work.

    @Nugs log in on http://www.boostaddict.com

Also, make sure it isn't a http://www and http:// issue. The cookies behave differently sometimes based on if you are on http:// or http://www.

Good but I still want to make sure the redirect functions as it should.

I had switched to logging in via boostaddict which solved the problem.
Switched back to Germanboost to test and all seems to be working now.
    Thanks.

    @Sticky

Sort of related I use BoostAddict. Every time I click on the FFTEC photo thread it switches me to bimmerboost and page 1 even though I've read the thread and it references a new post.

    This:

    Changes to this:
    http://www.bimmerboost.com/showthrea...Log#post627269

It keeps me logged in though so that works.

That's what it should do. The FFTEC forum is only on BimmerBoost.

Hmm... Annoying because I then have to change back to the top level. Oh well good to know.

It's a by-product of tuners having their own forum section.

I do have a better implementation for tuners to share their info coming (think of a live feed) but that will come with time.
