I love the idea of rotary power... I had an RX-8 (20b engine) -but have always wanted to try out an RX-7. I still think today the RX-7 is one of the most beautiful and capable cars of it's time (and can still keep up with similar priced cars today).
They are saying it is real gold. I don't know if it will melt, Gold is a good insulator right? It used on the McLaren F1 engine bay and that doesn't melt. However, on the turbo the temps will be much higher. I don't know, this leads me to believe this is just a show car that won't be seeing the strip... ever.
There is a video of the turbo and manifold glowing red.....gold plated...given the turbine side is black but still. I can't seem to find it now though.
