    I was just thinking that If he had a FMIC, he likely would have high 11.4s @ 123mph. Its pretty amazing what he did with his mods. Big ups to him.

    FMIC gives a mph? I thought it was more a consistency mod in N54 application due to the heat buildup?

    Allows those turbos to function better higher up in the RMP band (higher heatsoak threshold than stock FMIC) so they don't run out of steam so it is likely it will have a positive impact on top speed.

    Other arguement is that meth does this anyway so curious to know of FMIC upgrade is redundant with meth as we have seen some amazing traps on meth cars with stock FMIC.

    Although meth can control IATs well there is one thing it cannot do which is reduce pressure drop across the intercooler. This allows the compressors to hit target boost at a lower compressor speed which in turn helps with overall compressor output efficiency. In the extreme case you had NO intercooler and JUST meth you would pretty much have an ideal drag race application for these small turbos. Bigger IC's help with pressure drop and efficiency not just heat soak and IAT.

    Exactly, so on top of meth I don't know if that 1 mph is accurate. Without, it certainly would make sense dropping the IAT.
