Low 12 second is very realistic especially if you are upping the boost + meth. I don't even think high 11's with slicks would be out of the question just a matter of the clutch and rear end holding up to the launch it would take.

Well its been a while since I have updated you guys on what I have been doing to my turbo e30. First item of business was to install a bellows (flex pipe) in my turbo exhaust manifold. About a month ago, I pulled the turbo and manifold off the car and I saw were the weld cracked by the t3 flange. The probable cause is due to thermal expansion. There are a few other probabilities that could of caused this but I will spare you the details.

Next item of business was to install a flex pipe in the down pipe. This could of been part of the failure on the manifold too. Money well spent here to eliminate stresses into the manifold from the exhaust system.

Thirdly, I hooked my secondary injection system so to pulse at the same frequency as the primary injectors. The secondary injectors are still turned on by the boost pressure switches, but now I should have better fuel control thru the RPM band.

The below youtube video does show the new bellows in the manifold. Also shows the difference of using anti-lag.

^ What you are doing with this platform is simply great.

Thanks for the great video as well, how do you like the anti-lag setup?

What I plan to do this spring is to do a new video of my set up and collect some data on a third gear pull using anti-lag. Guess I have never seen anti-lag used on the street while the car is in motion. Virtually eliminates lag doesn't it for a cheap ebay turbo.

Here is an update on my methanol injection system. Got the first of four injectors in. The tubing shown was used to test the flow of the system, and was installed just to show clearances. Three more injectors to go....

I took this picture last night. Just today I got my fuel filter from Jegs, and my walbro 255 fuel pump is ordered and should be here sometime next week. The only question I had about the walbro is if it is compatible with Methanol. Hope it is.

The red EPDM hose is for Methanol, and will go from the trunk mounted tank to the fuel pump. (Blue Buna-N will be for E85 if I decide to run that instead of meth.) 3/8" Al. tubing will go to the engine bay and tap into the Nitrous Solenoid valve, then tap into the Regulator were I will maintain fuel pressure at 75 psi. Then back to the tank using the 1/4" Al. tubing.

The below picture shows my flow test setup I did last weekend. This is the volume after 52 seconds at 55 psi fuel pressure.

One thing you will note about the flow test is that the volumes are not all the same. My first test was at 45 psi, which resulted in a greater difference in volumes then what is shown above. Once I get this setup installed i will do some more tests at 75 psi to confirm even distribution. From my calculations, I should be at 43 lb/hr at 75 psi for each injector.

You might want to consider pm'ing coolingmist on here, they could help.

    hsvturbo,

Are you using the meth injection as primary fueling (running the car off meth) or just fueling for more boost with your other gas system intact?

The Methanol system will be a secondary fuel source only, activated off some boost pressure a switch. And yes, the methanol system should get me from 17.5 lbs of boost to +22 lbs, hopefully.

Ok, been a while and progress has been slow due to painting our kitchen cabinets and visits from family members... but I have my plumbing hooked up and will be checking for leaks and flow rates hopefully this weekend.

M10 now has Methanol under Boost!

    Per request more photos:

Fuel cell and trunk 90% complete. Just need to secure the tubing and wires.

And the engine compartment to include the trial methanol system.

This project took way to long, not so much the install, but other obligations that kept me away from completing the methanol injection kit. But it was well worth it! I made one hit on the new system at 18# of boost, and all I can say is wow! The amazing thing is that the hit was at part throttle and a very conservative tune. Of course it has been a while since I drove it, but it really felt strong. Engine oil is changed and I am driving it to work tomorrow for some more test and tune and a 3rd gear pull. more to come.Click here to enlarge

Yesterday I hit the drag strip and made a couple of runs with the new methanol injection system. Best time was a 8.30 seconds which is ~.01 seconds slower then last years best without the methanol kit. Good news is that I had more then enough fuel which was the main goal of me installing the methanol kit and therefore I can now increase my boost level.

Also, last years 8.29 second pass was accomplished without the tail pipe/muffler on. Yesterday's pass was with the full exhaust system on, not sure how much power this is eating up. All in all I productive day as well as learning a new system/tune for the car. Best part about it is that I can run this set up on the street unlike last years tune at 17.5 psi boost. More to come as I already want to change up my methanol kit system to make it more efficient.

So you were about the same with the same boost? That makes sense.

Completed a project for my car this past weekend. Removed the original solenoid / manifold/ tubing and replaced it with the below below:

I mounted two solenoids to a fuel rail. Then I added two very short tubes to the injector nozzles from the "t's" mounted below the SV, thereby reducing the time delay I had getting the methanol to the engine under boost. Turned up the boost to 19 lbs and made one hit after church yesterday. Much better fuel control for my system, AFR from 9.3 to 11.6. Hoping to hit the drags this weekend if the weather holds out...

Didn't get to go this past weekend. Spring break and work prevented me from going. When I do go racing, will be toating a video camera in hand.

I finally got to car to run decent on 19 psi boost, as I was getting spark blowout. put some new plugs in at .020 gap and also advanced my timing a bit. I don't know if its faster or not, guess I am getting use to it. Anyway, video taken yesterday, nothing fancy, just getting some data.

    http://s1182.photobucket.com/albums/...Picture005.mp4

FYI: The top Red LED when it is lit, means the methanol system is activated.
Used up 3 gallons of methanol to date.

You should get a VBOX dude, it would help you understand if changes youve made are working or not. Not saying they arent, but it will help you optimize and diagnose a lot better
