Problem flashing ecu- left jb4 on

hey guys i got myself into a issue here trying to flash the ecu. after having some problems with misfires and what not terry recommended a flash back to the stock bin. I proceeded to do so but forgot to turn the jb4 to map 0. As I began to write the ecu I got a error and the write stopped. I disconnected the cable and tried to access the jb4 using the steering wheel controls and wasn't able to access it. Also connected my laptop to jb4 and it also could not connect. tried starting the car and it cranks but doesn't start. When I read the ecu it says its in recovery mode. I disconnected the gray connector from the jb4 and then plugged the stock connector straight into the ecu to bypass the jb4 as per terrys instruction.

After that it looked as if I was able to flash the ecu but then I noticed it says session inactive and wont read the voltage. Ive wrote the ecu 4 times and it completed in less than 2 minutes but after it says the same thing, session inactive and the car wont start it just cranks. Tried disconnecting the battery and had the same issue after it would not flash properly. I tried hooking the jb4 up again after the battery reset but still couldn't access the jb4 with my laptop or the steering wheel controls. After writing the ecu I see ecu status: 0x0C programming session inactive, voltage is at 0 and part number says FFFFFFFFFF. Really need to figure this out as an help is appreciated.

My suggestion would be remove the JB4 completely, disconnect the battery for a minute or two, then try again with a strong charger. Might need to try to force a write, then unplug the battery again, and try another normal write.

This is it exactly. I've done the same exact thing with the JB4 and the same exact thing happened. ECU went into recovery mode and couldn't access JB4 command center to change to map 0. Do exactly as stated below and it will work. Make sure the leave the battery disconnected for at least 5 minutes. or longer if possible.

when you click on write ECU you will have two tabs try the one on right you see force write, use good battery charger and force write it with stock bin, maybe the car wont start but at least it will kick ECU out of recovery mode so you can start flashing again

    good luck

Force Write will take care of you. I was so excited the first time to flash, I did the same thing. No big deal.
