DBFIU! Hey! I see you're putting my PLX to good use?!

Btw guys, this has been talked about on n54tech as well as e90 post. I started a thread about staggered injection and if you implement it properly, pre-turbo injection simply provides the best gains. Maximizing these small turbo's potential is huge. There are very experienced and bright minds that have approved of this usage. Keep in mind I had this idea almost over a year ago and everyone is just nay-saying with no real data. Saying that you will erode your impellers is a fact, however with proper implementation this was told to be not an issue with the right mixture and atomization.

And like DBFIU posted earlier... Tell me cosworth doesn't know what they are doing:

Thanks guys. I actually bought my PLX gauge from klipseracer a few months ago. Great minds think alike, hah.

Pre-turbo is the way to go for maximizing your compressors. I really hope though it ends well. I will say this, a lot of times people implement a method and when things go sour they stop trying, or the community stops trying etc.. we have to break that trend.

The data will come soon folks, I am very busy right now (I have a 10 month old baby ) so I don't have much time to devote to the project. But soon we will see results.

If anyone is in the florida area with a Vbox that would be HUGE help, that way I can see gains without having to go to a dyno. This is especially important during long multi gear pulls where pre-turbo injection really shines.

    Anyway, god help us all!

Haha, me too, both are a bit confusing but I'm getting used to the BMS logs.

    DBFIU,
Awesome! This summer I was thinking about pre-turbo injection (would of be using e85 and a 16 lb/hr injector). I understand the concern with a fluid hitting the compressor wheel and I read on the web where some dude ruined his compressor by injecting H2O right in front of the turbo. Result: Cavitation, pitting of the wheel.

So did you get the bore scope to inspect the compressor wheel? Have you done anymore testing? Guess I need to find your thread....
    No guts, no glory...

hsv I just got back from alabama about two weeks ago so now I have the time to test. I will be borrowing my friends boroscope soon.

I will say this, I am able to log wastegate duty cycle, and one way to determine if your compressors are running poorly is to see if your WGDC has changed, which means your spinning the turbos faster to get required boost. Thus far, I HAVE NOT seen any changes to WGDC after 3 months of pre turbo injection usage.

Bu the only true way to confirm is with VISUAL inspection via borescope, and I will do that soon.

Also, it is very hard to determine the cooling effect of pre turbo injection because it requires almost a full 1st through 4th gear pull where things get really hot. I have done 2nd-3rd gear pulls and the gains are negligible. After 3rd gear and through 4th is when you start to see a larger delta in gains. I also only did one conclusive test, which is not enough data. I will be doing more tonight and tomorrow.

P.S. heres a link to my old thread on the topic which I will be updating.
