    *Sigh*

This is a joke. @Sticky do you honestly know much about Spygate? You should really educate yourself more on it before you keep bringing it up. The activity that the Pats were busted for was only made illegal the season before. Meaning all of the other teams were doing it up to that point or were allowed to.

Jimmy Johnson admitted to videotaping coaching signals during his time with the Cowboys, and that he was told about the technique by a Chiefs scout 18 years ago. Johnson also confessed to having interns rifle through the press box trash in search of notes that might have been discarded by opposing coaches. Also, ESPN's Mike Ditka spoke of George Halas bugging locker rooms and George Allen videotaping practices. Jimmie said “I did it with video and so did a lot of other teams in the league,” Johnson said. “Just to make sure that you could study it and take your time. But a lot of coaches did it, this was commonplace.

“The San Diego Chargers increased their security several years ago at a hill overlooking the practice field at the team facility during weeks when they played the Denver Broncos. Why? It turns out Broncos coach Mike Shanahan had been hiring spies to videotape the Chargers practices. The NFL had been aware of it for several years (at least one NFL official had seen one of the tapes), but didn’t step in because it was considered a team issue.”

Steelers chairman Dan Rooney stated that "We consider the tapes of our coaching staff during our games against the New England Patriots to be a non-issue. In our opinion, they had no impact on the results of those games."

Jets head coach Eric Mangini stated that "I think when you look at the history of success that [the Patriots] had after that incident, it’s pretty obvious that it didn’t play any type of significant role in the victories [the Patriots] had or the success that [the Patriots] had."

TL/DR spying, video taping, etc has been part of the NFL, for better or for worse, for a VERY long time. The pats just got caught and were made examples of. Many of the former head coaches have made it clear that "spying" was a part of the game, and they didn't consider it cheating.

As of the conclusion of the 2011 NFL season, the Patriots had the best record in the NFL since Spygate, compiling a 67-19 (regular season and playoffs), best in the NFL. Four division titles in five years, two AFC titles. Please keep hating. Look at the facts guys. Bringing up spygate now is basically moot as they have been extremely dominate since the 'event'. Most people in the NFL don't care about it, only other team's fans keep bringing it up aka you guys.

I guess it's just easy to hate on the team with one of the best the best records. The hate for the Patriots will continue as long as they are the team to beat. But hey that's why people are called haters.

The Patriots didn't "cheat", they broke a league rule. The league rule states that you can't video from the SIDELINE. Video taping signals is ALLOWED as long as it is from the coaches box. Teams STILL do it today.

Without Harvin the Seahawks could be in trouble. Defense is obviously superb but it can be gashed between the A gaps and the ends play with no lane integrity (Irvin in particular can be handled in the run game). Offense is s-l-o-w and Wilson hasn't played well in a month but Lynch remains a monster. Think San Fran is the better team right now in the NFC.

As for the Broncos Chargers game..

Oh you saw the tapes? Yeah I heard it was no big deal from the commissioner who then destroyed the evidence and levied the largest fine a coach has ever seen in history. Sounds like it was no big deal. Sounds like everyone was doing it with only one coach being punished for it not only with record money but with draft picks.

Oh yeah he was fined the maximum amount a coach could be fined for being in the wrong position with the camera. The tapes were destroyed because of the angle.

He videotaped signals and audible calls which I don't ever remember hearing was legal. The Patriots defenders would change their defense on the fly after an audible knowing what the audible changed the play to. You're telling me that isn't cheating? L O L

Well we're getting Brady versus Manning. It's going to be interesting.

I still think it will be a Seahawks versus Broncos Superbowl. Beating Seattle in Seattle is just too damn tall of an order even though the 49ers are playing some damn good football and I really like their linebackers.

It's going to be a great day of playoff football.

Peyton to beat the super model..... I actually expect the Broncos to wipe the Belchicks big time by at least 13

The coach grudge match will be a beauty and I am praying to see that sour faced, bad sport dh from 49ers (great coach BTW) lose again... just to see his FACE when losing AGAIN in the Championship.... will be too funny

The Seattle SuperSportslosercitymobsters to win the Superbowl as it will be held on a cold dismal day in NJ........... and their DEFENSE is flipping awesome

Overall - effing stupid idea to play the Superbowl in that Jersey dump in Feb

And as I am an Australian I have no idea what the eff will really happen

Peyton is close to the best football player I have seen in any code and that includes "Football" with Pele, Ronaldo, Messi, Zizou etc... Aussie Rules with Ablett and Ebert etc... Rugby with Jonah Lomu etc, Rugby League with whoever etc, NFL with Joe Montana, Jerry Rice ad infinitum

If he was on teams with GREAT coaches he would have many more RINGS

I recognize his greatness. Just think Brady is the superior player, it's not a slight to either player to say in earnest conversation that you believe the other to be better.

This should be a fantastic day of football- is there any doubt that these are the four best teams in the league? Not in my mind. Each team has some flaws that can be exploited, but also have distinct strengths and tactical advantages.

I'll go Niners-Pats in the Superbowl, sadly think the Niners will win it all. Too deep, too good on both sides of the line, and can push the ball vertically in the passing game. Most complete of the four teams in my mind. As you noted though, SEA is a TOUGH place to play.

These are the four best teams this year, without a doubt.

If it's Niners-Pats I'll become a Niners fan. I also think the Niners would win that matchup.

Man I can't sleep I'm too excited for football today.

Colin is a good player and I have respect for him. But the niners, i'm not a fan of them. The seahawks, big mouths, but I grew up in oregon and they were the only nearby team so I've always had the seahawks on my rooting list. Even when they always sucked.

    Broncos versus Seahawks!

I was hoping it was going to be the Niners pulling it out as Kapernick just can't pass on a level to compete with Manning. The loss of Bowman would also open up the running game for the Broncos.

Well, the best from the NFC and AFC are meeting. I think the Broncos will take it.

Both teams deserve to be in the big game, no question about that. Should be a good one. I keep expecting someone to push the ball vertical on SEA, but in fairness to them they never let it happen. Interested to see how/if Peyton can threaten outside the hashes against those corners in the windy cold. His velocity to the opposite hash is...modest, putting it politely. I'll go 27-24 Broncos. Don't see a cover man for Julius Thomas, frame would pose real problem for Earl Thomas and Chancellor can't run with him. Peyton gets his second ring.As an aside: I was generally surprised by the marginal quarterback play today. Peyton played OK, certainly nothing special in terms of the quality of his throws (decision making was fantastic, but it always is). Brady and Kaepernick were both very hot and cold, could not locate the deep ball. Wilson was average, but i'm starting to think he is an average player regressing back towards the mean.

Nope. Tom's still the better player. I'll rewatch the 22 tape, but at first glance neither QB played all that well in this game. Peyton was certainly sharper, but he missed 4 or 5 stick throws that he normally makes with his eyes closed. He did eat up the quarters coverage NE went with after Talib went down, but that's par for the course for a player of his caliber.

I do think he'll get his ring in 2 weeks though. So congrats to him- Broncos were no doubt the superior team today.
