I think he's still perfecting the N63 tune, in addition to the F3x N55 stuff. AFAIK, Evolve & Active Autowerke are the only 2 tunes for the Fxx M5/M6, and both are flash based

No shot, it took ~6 years to Open Source the N54 DME, we still don't have custom tuning on the N55, so Open Source tuning on the S63 Tu is ways away... If you're power crazed and money's no object, chances are Standalone EMS is the only way to do that with the Fxx M5/M6.

I mean, besides the Active, Eurocharged & Evolve tunes, you're looking at high dollar packages from Manhart Racing, Alpina, G-Power, or PP Performance from Russia (little known)

Switzer also sells a F10 M5 package (P700 = Tune, Exhaust & Intake Filters). Interestingly they've also added the 1M to their car list, so it'll be interesting to see what they bring to the established N54 scene.

We have the S63 Stage1 for it. Quite a few out there but not a lot of dyno feedback yet. This customer hit 630whp though.

Both are correct. It's a 3rd generation JB system. Meaning it doesn't have CANbus access. But we've been calling those "Stage1" for some time now.

It's a variant of the G3 board. Which means digital and analog I/O but no CANbus or CPS. G4 was the first board we included CANbus on and G5 added CPS, ISO, extra I/O, etc.

Gotcha. So what needs to happen for CANbus integration with the M5?

We're doing the N63 S2 first which covers 2011-2013 models. That is non-CAN system as that particular ECU uses "flexray" instead of "CAN" making the wiring for CANbus a headache. And for S2 power levels it's not required anyway. They can always log with a BT cable. When that is done we'll get to work on the 2014+ N63tu. At this point I'm not sure if that will wind up being CAN based. Once that is done whatever we do will over to the S63 platform.
