I sure did; no regrets. Still enjoying the driving experience with this setup.

I've seen a back to back dyno of SSV2, same dyno, same day vs. the Epic headers. The Epic header made 1-2 more peak hp and about 2-4 ft/lbs all the way across.

The test car was an unopened S54's that made 350whp NA with the SSV2 headers. These cars had carbon plenum's, pullies, lightened flywheels and 3.5" exhaust.

On this same dyno, my car (Carbon airbox), and SS "rep" headers made 304whp (in part due to a crappy mid pipe at the time).

The key to Epic headers, is Epic dyno tuning. Nobody has won with the S54 in BMW CCA and NASA club racing more than Epic. Their research is a result of their racing experience, and frankly, it's more like racing dominance if you check the standings. Their partnered with Bimmerworld in Club/Endurance/sprint racing.

I've attached a screen shot from the source.

Again, these headers are designed with carbon plenums in mine like those from Bimmerworld and Evolve and Alpha-N software. A proper airbox with the appropriate tuning will have flow a lot more air (25rwhp +/-) over what's 'stock'.

By the way I went with AP headers, and Afe intake boot with filter(stock air box). I will be dyno testing all mods mentioned soon.

I mean that sounds absolutely awesome but why doesn't Epic have a higher forum profile?

Thanks GG. She has come a long way. I just beat the GTS2 record at Nola MSP by 1.1 seconds with my true street pads and 245 street tires but I did get passed by trailered, less powerful, full interior E46 M3 on JRZ coils and 275 slicks : (.

My car isn't GTS2 legal, but I benchmarked it against that because that is essentially a 325/8is with open suspension and tire rules. I know I guy that turned a 1:38.4 on Road Atlanta in GT2 trim. For similar comparison the lap record for spec E30 and Miata is 5 seconds slower.

Thanks Sticky. My guess would be Epic doesn't need to market on forums to sell products. Randy is epically busy Click here to enlarge. Their huge in BMW CCA and NASA Club Racing , and that's their market. From my experience, what works/wins there regardless of 'how' it is sold to the main stream will sell itself to guys like us trying to find out what works best for our builds.
Or in other words, what makes Bimmerworlds main product list doesn't need to get plugged on various forums to prove its validity.

Also, I believe Randy is sold out of his headers for now.

I've heard good things about AP Racing, and if you aren't running Alpha-N (which 99% of us aren't) it seems like a good option.

Thats very impressive to say the least. I love what you have done with the car, and I wish I could sometime into track time. Hopefully this coming year I can get out to Lime Rock for an HPDE, or 2. Once you can dump some of that interior to reduce weight you will be making up some good time. Grant told me ur car is bada$$.

I've heard great things about Randy, and his tuning. I'll be going with RK tuning/Alpha N. I maybe testing out a replica csl intake for him on the car while this is going on as well. I'll make another thread here once this is done. It would've been this coming week, but he'll be in Florida next week.

Yes. With similar mods RK tuning has made 321whp, and 254wtq. I'd be pretty happy to make that kind of power out of a n/a 3.2 without a csl style intake.

    Here is the dyno sheet.

Looks like solid results. More torque and hp then my car on a dynamic.

What will you be using? No box?

    AP Racing Headers
    AFE Elbow
    AFE drop in filter
IAT relocation to front of the stock air box

RK tunes sells a fiberglass csl style intake manifold that he'd like to test on my car. I may try it out, but I'm not sure how much power it will pick up over 321ish

Thats the long term plan. I like to do things in stages. Keep in mind my motor has 163k miles on it. Run's great, but before I think about adding cams I'll be saving up for a rebuild. Even thou the car runs great with all the beisans preventive vano's stuff, and valve adjustment.

The best thing about the box is it keeps the heat away.
You can never keep enough heat away, 2/3rd's of my airbox is wrapped in gold.

Loving all this progress towards S54's. The information was so scarce 3 years ago, seemed like most people outside of the club racing world literally thought 300rwhp was all they were capable off.

I can think of one very reputable shop in Georgia that told me I won't make more than 300

People told me the S65 was maxed out. Those people still don't have the car and still consider themselves experts telling others what can't be done. They aren't on this forum.
