    Track night 2007 335 vs 2009 GTR

My buddy I work with recently bought a 09 GTR it is plain stock. We hit the track tonight. I ran 11.77 @ 119 11.81 116 and another 11.86 @ 117.

Surprised that the best he could do was 12.08 @ 115 it went down hill from there with 12.1's and 12.2's. all consistent at 115-116 mph.

His girlfriend videoed one race where I ran the 11.81 run I had him by 3 plus cars I walked away from him all the way down the track. I got to watch it a couple of times then he made her erase it.

I looked up 09 GTR specs shows them at 485 hp and like 435 tq but they weigh like 4200 lbs. I was expecting a real driver race since some car mags had them doing the 1/4 at 11.6's at 119 or so.

But it really was never that close.

No vids, his gf erased the vid, he wanted no vids that our friends at work could see. Everyone at work was talking when he got the car that no way I could take a GTR I said it might be closer than any of you think. So needless to say he wanted no vid of how bad it really went.

I am FBO Cobb backend flash with JB4 G5 board, E85 50/50, HFS4 meth kit. Map 6 Terry suggested track settings. Auto.

Lame. If he lost, he lost. I'm sure no one will need to see a video to figure out what happened when you two walk into work this morning. It will be obvious.

I've seen bone stock go low 12s so it varies based on year/tires/launch/driver/conditions

It is an auto push a couple buttons for launch control and step on gas go. Doesn't seem to hard to me.

Maybe but I walked away from him no problem on all passes. And I go to the track somewhat regularly and if you are stronger eventually you will stop the pull or gain he is unable to do either.

The 09 GTR is 485hp and 435 tq so pretty sure a FBO tuned 135 or 335 should do well against any car with weight of 4200.

Ive run with some stock ones before and from a roll, its close but I give it to the n54 cars. You have to be trapping 120+ though. From a dig, I don't think it matters what you do to any n54 car...on street tires, the gtr is out and you wont catch it before the end of the 1/4th mile lol.

I run Nitto N05r drag radials at the track. Yep after the other night he already got a used Cobb ap. Said he is stg 1 only because he is stock he thinks it is like +60 hp and 70 tq that sound right? I went to Cobb tuning but did not see what kind of bump it would be.

I did see an 09 GT-R dyno on the cobb site, stock was 480 and 430 after stg 1 520hp 480 if i remember correctly.

GT-R most likely didn't use launch control properly. He could've had the LC2 launch control program as well. If you don't use it right you'll get a $#@!ty time in that 2009.

idk, but i have seen an 09 or 2010 gtr with a tune and a midpipe go 11.0 flat in the quarter.

I know I broke his heart last Thursday night. It looks like the little Beamer that could may not be the top car at work anymore. Looks like RB's for Christmas or some form of a turbo upgrade.

    Exactly.
Not taking anything away from the BMW times as they are great;but the GTR is much quicker than 12s,especially if he used launch control. Definitely not representative of what the R35 is capable of if driven properly.

Regardless,a win is a win so congrats!!!
