Red Bull F1 car donuts on Burj Al Arab helipad by David Coulthard

Insane place for a F1 car to do donuts.
On top of the Bujr Al Arab hotel in Dubay.
Extreme car control is a must here.
    This is no CGI animation.
Balls of steel are required. Props to David Couldhard

It almost looks like his left front wheel is locked.

That's what I thought at first. But as you can see at the end he stops at an entirely different off center position as where he starts from, so I really believe that the car is not bolted down and this is all skills.

I was thinking the brake was locked, not necessarily the wheel itself was attached to the helipad. The car probably could push itself forward even with the brake locked, but the locked brake would help create a pivot point for doing donuts.

Maybe @Sparky68 knows something about this.

    EDIT:

Wow, video is blocked now. That did not take long.

He most likely had his brake bias set all to front.
It would IMHO not be Red Bull too have the front wheels locked...

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying anything was done. I wasn't there and you can't draw definitive conclusion from a video like that.

    It's cool nonetheless.

Awesome building, one wrong move and it's game over on that stunt, but with a car like that I dunno how high I could really rate the difficulty level...and lets face it Travis Pastrana woulda drove it off side onto some landing being suspended by a helicopter flying by at 100 mph without a parachute...but yeah cool vid for sure, would like to see whatever commercial or whatever piece of video they actually intended this for and edit it into

They used the hotel donut scene at the beginning of the BBC F1 broadcast of the Abu Dhabi GP and asked DC questions about it afterward.

I can get used to this donut thing. A bit like the DTC celebrations.
