    OP of above thread here

engine with loom, DME, CAS (immobiliser), dash cluster

Transmission, clutch, flywheel (not trying to be too obvious, just comprehensive)

Air con lines from N54 - condensor ETC. is the same (as far as i remember, PS lines etc. are the same)

New radiator (N54 one is not as tall so the IC fits)

    intercooler.. vacuum canisters...

    modified driveshaft (shortened AFAIK)

Fuel pump would be a good idea.

if you got really lucky, and didn't touch the engine assuming it was all 100% running with healthy waterpumps and injectors, your engine mounts were fine.. etc... you'd maybe get away with 6-7k in parts.

    i think i haven't missed anything

otherwise the wiring from the JBE>DME is the same,

workshops haven't really done this stuff before, so may be hesistant to take it on.. i didn't find one who jumped at the project, though a few did say they'd give it a go, especially over here, euro experience isn't super common, and most people think it'd be super complex.. when i found it's really not, and is legitimately a direct swap for the most part Click here to enlarge

so budget a few grand more to get a shop to do it for you, unless you're game enough/want the experience/fun to DIY.. add THOUSANDS more if you want to pull anything apart/replace/upgrade anything, 2.5k to tear it apart with new gaskets+seals and injectors, coils, plugs i've added up... up to 10-12k+ inc labour for 'building' and headwork etc. that'd be if you had more along the lines of a 20k budget lol

nope, N52 is the top trim for the E87, sadly.

yup, that's about as cheap as it gets as long as it has all accessories and wiring and etc.

    i got mine for ~
2400 shipped engine + electronics etc... then ~ 700 transmission shipped.

fitting, you just have to get a shop that knows BMW's, or believes you that it's not going to be super difficult.

    Sadly no

on that note, I just got my 135 insured. The insurance company tried to add on a "vehicle excess" of $1500 - because supposedly it's a dangerous vehicle and they get a lot of claims
lets just say they lost my business

Right, they probably don't add that stuff onto the 128.

    130 or 125 here, no 128

but no, no stupid excess for my car!

still, the same insurer she's with is $15/mo cheaper for me... just car used to be the best, now they seem to suck a bit...

just car's thing is 'modified' cars... but NRMA also say 'yeah we'll insure you with legal mods no worries' which is the same thing...
