Actually you might want to read a little more. As Terry said a gross over simplification, none of you have any of the actual details because (shocker) we don't post everything online for you guys to pick through. Why this is a topic of discussion in this thread is beyond me, focus on the topic at hand which is Terry tuning a ST which should be of interest to a lot of you.

So you are telling him to read a little more but then say nobody has the details because it's not posted online. What is he supposed to be reading then? Click here to enlarge

Nothing to do with you... The new Honda Civic AKA the BMW N54 and the the crowd it seems to be bringing lately are getting a little old.

Sad but true. It's only going to get worse as the mileage goes up and the prices fall. If you can ignore the BS business should be booming soon.

Yeah Mike told me. I started to read it. I think I read Shiv say at some point he had a patent out on N54 single turbos, lol. He also told me a few years ago he patented solenoid boost control. You know, like the kind the car comes with from the factory. So I never know what to believe coming from him.

Well, now that FFTEC hardware can be viably tuned with a JB4, a flash tune alone, or even a MOTEC as that one guy has done, hopefully more power hungry customers jump in to the fray to propel the N54 platform forward.

This is all above my knowledge level but I found this motec controlled N55. Apparently a Motec M181 will run the DI on an N54.

    Motec M1

Advances in technology have increased the demands on a vehicle’s components, especially theECU. This demand has reached the point where a single firmware to ECU configuration cannot meet the market’s ECU requirements (even with increased capacity and processor speed).
The M1 series was conceived by MoTeC to overcome this one-to-one, firmware to ECU limitation, by designing a system where operational efficiency, advanced features and flexibility are its primary objectives. At its core, M1 provides the ability to develop a suite of flexible and tailored solutions (packages), making it ideal for any application (however complex) and category management.
Key advantages to the new M1 solutions are:

    • Latest generation high performance processor
    • Large logging memory, fast Ethernet downloads
    • Compact and lightweight in robust magnesium enclosure
    • Supports direct injection and port injection applications
    • Supports advanced logging features including Pro Analysis (i2 Pro)
    • Advanced security system, incorporating an anti-tampering microprocessor
    • Access log-in levels for multiple users

And yea, someone needs to contact this Martin guy and ask him for more info on using the Motec M1 on an N54. That N55/Borg Warner EFR dyno looks ridic over the stock baseline.

Here's his contact info off the Motec Dealer's page. I would contact him, but I don't think it'll be very worthwhile since I'm done modding at FBO/Stock Turbos. Maybe someone who's running an aftermarket setup (Vargas Stg 2/3s or a Single Turbo conversion) wants to reach out; just a heads up he used the M182 Motec on that N55 car.

The M182? Found it in Euros (4,980), and that converts into ~$6.5k just for the EMS (no harness/sensors/etc). I've found on a few websites (AMS/T1Race) the M150 GTR PNP kit that's ~$7.5k (includes the EMS, GTR harness, Necessary Sensors & Wiring, and Level 2 Data Logger. BUT let's remember this is Motec (bulletproof race spec hardware) and currently is the only option for DI motors EMS.

Running the same hardware there isn't going to be a world of difference between what Terry can get out of it and what Shiv got out of it. Don't get me wrong, i'm glad as hell to see it but i'm not expecting anything revolutionary yet... but this platform is really just starting to get interesting Click here to enlarge
