    Calichase's E46 track car (non-m)

    hello everyone,

i am new to this forum, but not to the bmw community and would like everyones opinions on my 2002 e46 sedan

the national harbor offered great scenery

    my mods
    -Vorsteiner v-gtr cf hood
-Vorsteiner v-csl bumper, i added the second symmetric intake hole as well as painted it uniquely, thats all real carbon fiber exposed
    -custom vorsteiner decal
    -csl trunk lid
    -matte black vinyl roof
    -bbs rs2 wheels 18x8.5,18x10 hankook v12s 225/40f 255/35r
    -kw v2 coilovers
-rogue engineering dms exhaust with resonator delete
    -catless headers
    -afe stage 1 intake
    -Active Autowerks ecu tune
    -Active Autowerks ssk
    -Corbeau Fx1 pro racing seats
    -sparco 4 point harnesses
    -autopower rollbar
-khoalty angel eyes and 6000k hids
    -carbon fiber wrapped interior
-many more that im forgeting as well too

    some upcoming plans
-the trunk was going to be painted tiag. I planned to leave the lip and license plate recess cf, as much as i hate to cover up the beautiful 2x2 weave, it stands out too much currently, but i think what i am doing might be too subtle, i guess we will see what it looks like...

Only a few more things to do on my list. Extreme ideas in whcih would only make sense if the car became a fully dedicated "track car"
    1. side skirts? im not a huge fan of hamann gtr but i really dont like any other options
    2. one piece v-csl cf lip in the front (still debating this one)
    3. s54 swap (need to figure out electroinics first)
with full m3 rear end with 3.91 lsd
    4. rear bumper, i dont want an m tech 2...., i like the srs tec dual exhaust with the cf ribbed diffuser but i hate quad exhaust on non-m's. i just like the symmetry of the dual exhaust over the single
    5. wheels? the rs2's are rare but im looking for something new. i would love some ccw classics or apex arc-8s, 2 very different styles.
    6. quad xenons? might be interesting to look into, definitely unique.
    7. extended fender flares(widebody), would have to be custom and would be difficult to make them look nice.
    8. customs rear strut brace that ties into rear subframe?

i also want to stop modding this car, i am in the process of purchasing a 2007 e86 interlagos blue z4m coupe and would rather save for that then put more money into my beloved e46

the headers sound great. In combination with the rogue dms muffler and lack of resonators, the car is loud, racecar loud, but only when you are really on the throttle. You can here all the gurgles and pops which is always cool too. During highway driving, which i do alot, the sound is relatively tame. At full throttle, the sound begins at a low growl, very bassy, but no drone, and then continues to get more exotic sounding and raspy. At 7500 rpm this thing is like a screaming banshee.

I looked through all my bimmerfest east photos and videos and found a few good ones from when the va caravan went through the Baltimore tunnel. Unforunately my exhaust is muffled by every other car!

thanks! the car is a true enthusiast's dream! she gets some attention from true enthusiasts but not too much unwanted attention. The bumper was a massive undertaking to complete. Most people are not a huge fan of it, but I think it's great and unique, But i also put over 140 man hours in it.

Unforuntately I might have to part ways with her in the near future, it doesnt make too much sense to have a track e46 and a z4mc. On to the next project I guess!

I left it in for rigidity, despite the added weight, it stiffens up the chassis even more since its the fixed version, not the fold down. And every once in awhile i have a passeneger sit back there.
