    6AT Transmission Fluid Change?

Has anyone changed their transmission fluid in their 6AT?

My car has been jolting forward when I come to a complete stop for a couple years now and I read that changing the transmission fluid and doing a transmission adaptation/reset fixes this problem.

If so, is there a better transmission fluid we can use over BMW recommended?

Hmmm...never paid attention but I'm sure it only happens in D. I'll look into this more today.

    Did you do the following:

Drive in 4th gear 25mph, don't let it go into 5th, coast to a stop, put it in N, then back in D and repeat 10 times.

Apparently you need to do that and it will fix the problem.

    24-11-7-571-217 pan
    24-34-7-588-724 valvebody
    24-34-7-588-725 gasket
9 liters of 30504 Redline fluid.

This is what we use for transmission services. No use doing the service, unless you replace the valvebody gasket and mechatronics sleeve. We'll be doing one tonight on an E61xi

adaptations and fill speed adaptations need to be cleared as well.

Dealer did it so I assume so. It might be because I have an 06 valvebody. Im going to to do a write up on a swap to a newer one along with flashing the trans, hopefully that puts an end to most of my jerky trans issues. Other than that it has never given me an error code(gear with exclamation point)

Is this achieved by adaptation reset with say INPA? I am asking as in INPA it's simply stated "reset adaptations" or something similar without going into much detail.
I am about to replace the sealing sleeve, seal adapter, fill plug (the stealership messed up the head and of course kept quiet about it), the solenoids, the pan, and fluid. It's just a partial mechatronic rebuild (only swapping the solenoids) as I am not sure I want to disassemble the valvebody in fear of damaging the imprinted gasket on the separator plate (if that happens that will need replacement too from what I've read...). Hopefully this will solve my jerky transmission as well. If not, I think I may have to get a newer version refurbished mechatronic which will set me back $1500+ Click here to enlarge
