    Vibration When Accelerating Between 2k - 3k RPMs 2nd Gear +

After the dealer updated my software to version ILA0S IS rom I get this vibration during acceleration between 2k-3k RPMs. Its doesnt do it in 1st gear, but after I shift to 2nd+ gears and the RPMs drop within that range I feel the vibration. Never was there before.

Nothing wrong with Tires, Tires pressure, or wheels. I have even uninstall the Cobb AP and it still occures.

Thats the RPM range the turbos start to spool I guess. Anyone know how I can tuned this out or what else it could be ?

If anyone can help it would be appreciated. Car is out of warranty

I've heard a few theories, like the DMFW being the culprit. I noticed it started when i began running 18psi+ at lower RPM's. Maybe someone can chime in if it went away after Subframe bushing upgrade or possibly the differential mounts being changed out. That's a very high load, high torque, low engine speed scenario.

Does the DCT use a DMFW? Something must be cushioning the engagement of the clutch discs.

Are you getting any fueling related codes?? It might be the car "surging" because of poor fuel delivery/failing injectors/etc etc

Might also be WGDC related if you're getting severe enoguh oscillations.

Is it high frequency vibration? Had the same thing when my halfshafts went.

Dunno, I hope its not realted to the DCT. The vibration on occures during the spooling of the turbos at the given RPMs

It could be many things, hard to say. I had what sounds like this vibration back when one of my rear half shafts was going (bad/binding cv).

There was another 335is that I knew about that had vibration whenever he accelerated and sure enough right after his driveshaft to diff broke as mine did previously.

However though the the vibration only occures between 2k - 3k RPMs during spool

Mine was the same and around the same RPM range. Wanna know why it occurs between 2 and 3k? That's where the peak torque is.
In my car it felt like there was sand under tires.

You said it co-insided with an ECU update, will check my ID since I do not have the vibration. Did they have any problem with your flash?

Exactly. I am curious if it would be resolved by replacing the sub-frame bushings or differential bushings with something stiffer.

Car has no drone....the only thing hardware I am aware the dealer touched was the replacement of my shift stick. Since I drove the car 99.99% of the time in manual mode, whenever I pressed the park button it wouldn't auto park but got stuck nad had to put it into park manually.

Nothing was mention of them having any problems with the flash. Yea, right after the last dealership visit I started to notice the car vibrating within the mention RPM range

Tuned or stock it will still vibrate on accel

Was able to speak to the dealer and they said they can work on the car based on some good will policy they have

I had the same issue. Replaced plugs, coils and injectors. Turned out to be gunked up intake valves. Have you had your intake valves cleaned?

haha funny you mentioned this I did request for intake valves to be checked / cleaned but it wasn't approved.

I have NGK plugs I put in like less than 8k miles ago. Coils and injectors have been untouched

Mine wasn't approved either and had to pay $578 out of pocket to get it walnut blasted at my dealer. It made a huge difference in the power band and responsiveness as well as getting rid of the shudder/vibration.

Well my car has been with the dealer for over a week now. Today I went on a conference call with my SA, the SM, and the Shop Forman

They went through everything engine wise, plugs, coils, injectors, intake valves (which don't need cleaning), turbos etc, and were in serious dilemma scratching their heads of what it could be.

So I mention the driveline fault as a last resort, light bulbs went off in everyone's head but at the same time it was something they frowned about dealing with. Will get an update this Monday if am going to be thrown under the bus or not which will also determine if my track days have come to an end Click here to enlarge

Sorry to hear about that brother.... Let us know Monday. My bet would be driveline. Could even be driveshaft, etc something more simple. Hope you figure it out soon as it would suck if your tracking days are over.. You know, not beating the current record and all Click here to enlarge

I forgot all about that, but another problem is my car is back to stock and may stay that way till I get another Cobb AP. The one I had was being borrowed and is going back to the owner. Striving for a lower ET and higher speed traps have caused me nothing but problems technically.
However, it comes with the territory though, ya got to pay to play. Since I am out of warranty its time to lay low for some time.

Here it is....yea I know, why the frack did I leave the diff brace on ? Didn't think they would be so damn petty. Same place replaced by CP but didn't deny me b/c I had downpipes or upgraded intake. But this bull is just damn epic. This was a different dealer from what I usually frequent
