    N63 in X5. Tuning options.

    Hi y'all. Just picked up a 2012 X5 N63 - 400HP version.

Anyone with that engine running a tune? I am coming over from the 335i community so I'm going to give Terry's piggy a try. I've been running a JB4 on the 335i since it was a JB3 Click here to enlarge

What about ESS and Velos? Anyone running them on the non-M car's 400HP engine? Thoughts? Performance numbers?

    Thanks.

    You have several options.

You can go with a piggyback from BMW. You can get an ECU Tune from OE Tuning, Renntech, Active, etc.

Downpipes + tune = one happy camper.

Dinan stage II here and very happy with it.

It it is extremely heavy and falls flat after third gear IMO, but that's physics and aerodynamics.

I have ave dyno graphs floating around here as well.

Very conservative (low reading) mustang dyno at STM in Ny.

Yes the 550 is more difficult to dyno and roll into based on the full throttle switch on the floor. They didn't have the same problem with the x5.

Therr te maybe more in it, but not on that day and with that darn FT switch.

Yes, on a mustang dyno and awd. Both which take a considerable amount of hp. Crank hp/tq is what Dinan claims or more.

My Gtr on the same dyno puts down 597/600 and on a dyno jet put down 11% more.
