    Chasing 10's with RB's

In my chase for that elusive 10 second pass I have managed to get a just a little bit closer. It was a game time decision to go so I pulled my rear and pass seats, loaded up my DR's, and left with way to much gas in the tank. By the time I arrived I still had about 1/2 tank of E60 with about 1 gallon of 109 splashed on top.

Track conditions were decent with temp around 71, DA of 2K, and unfortunately a headwind...

Best pass of the day was 11.23 at 125.49

I am finally figuring out how to prep and launch the DR's properly so things are starting to become interesting! I would like to think that without the headwind, tank down to 1/8, and a little cooler day I can make this 10 happen. Click here to enlarge

Kills for the day included a couple fully track prepped F Bodies, first and second gen GT500's, and a good looking 300Z.

Video: Only captured the GT500 who ran 12.0@119 and F-Bodie who had to run high 11's (he would not talk to me after LOL)

Great runs!!! Your car makes it look easy. Good luck hitting 10's. What weight reduction do you have done for those runs? Doesn't look like your passenger seat is installed.

Are you RWD or AWD? 1.78 60' is REALLY good for a RWD N54. I can't view the video from my work computer. Are you 135i or 335i? MT or AT? Regardless, great times. With lower DA and no wind you'll be right at 11.0. A slightly better 60' will get you in the 10s I think.

I bet with a line lock kit and proper burn out you'll hit those 10's. With a lsd you'll certainly be there. Great runs none the less!!!

Well, it appears that I did not have instant notify checked... lol

Thank you for the support and props guys!
    The car is a 08 135i/AT - Running JB4/G5/ISO - Alpina flash for the trans - Launching around 3K

I think my next event will be a local street car shootout that should take place mid October. With a little luck the temp will be in the low 60's and I will be sure to have as little fuel as possible in the car.

So for the trans... Has a true solution been found yet? Level 10?
I would like to stay with an auto but have considered going manual if this one gives out.

Last dyno was 503/517. I suspect that with the latest firmware, flash, and temp the car is closer to the 515-520whp mark.

i dont think a line lock is really going to help, unless you get it setup to release during clutch launch or have it on a microswitch release......

Really depends on the track and its prep - Edgewater, I have to beg for enough water to do a proper burnout. Without the water the DR's are to grippy for the open diff...
