I just believe the way this is worded is misleading. As some may know, a larger turbine can add quite the effort and cost into the development of this turbo upgrade. This wording eludes to the upgrade containing a larger turbine, which I really dont believe is the case- assuming the pics are of the units being spoken of.

    Thanks,

You are right Rob. The terminology is misleading. If they fitted a larger turbine why would it be modified and clipped. Since they mentioned a larger compressor wheel if the exhaust side was big they would say larger compressor and exhaust wheel. Clever wording for something that is most probably similar to the EPL's.

Yes, the wording implies a larger wheel/turbine, so then what is it really?

The turbine housing is the single largest restriction, if that is not modified in some way; YOU WILL be flow limited and power limited. Exhaust gas can only do so much through this flow regime. A larger turbine wheel will be needed if you want to see gains. I bet you these turbos will net you no more than 30-50 at best with race gas, upgrading the compressor is not where the work is; the turbine is the issue here.
Some people live long, meaningful lives.

Other people eat shit and die.

I'm not racist, I hate everybody equally; especially fat people.

Turbine wheel is clipped for it to flow more than stock.

but clipping a turbo can only do so much, the housing is still tiny... in my opinion this is a stage 1 turbo upgrade...rb is more along the lines of 2 or 3

I leaked this in AR's first thread on e90post. he announced he had a single turbo project, and although i had been holding a photo of his prototype I didn't release it until he had made mention of it first.

That's right, it was posted here a few months back: http://www.bimmerboost.com/showthrea...1857#post21857

Just wondering, why are you posting it in this thread though?

Clipping the turbine wheel can reduce backpressure a lot. Both solutions tetain the stock turbine housing. The question becomes then which one is aerodynamically better. For that question you don't know the definitive answer. I have a guess that RB, but we will see soon enough.

and even if he didnt, i still would. i just dont go looking for Ego runs. enthusiast runs like w/ Byzantine or even Msizzle i would go out of my way. but a fanboi, they can come to me. i just want to know how the other turbo upgrades compare. itrs been a while with a few people running them. it would be nice to have some info, whether they be close/equal/stronger than mine, i think everyone wants to know

me you and jpsimon should get together and do some runs for comparisons....once i get my meth installed that is

yea, im definitely down for this, but from the looks of the weather we have been having it looks like this is going to be a competition slated for early next year...gives me enough time to get my timing, driveshafts, meth and etc sorted out. I wanna see what the "probably most powerful non-No2 e93 335 in the world" can do against its lighter counterparts
