Wait, so you had to pay $5k on top of the purchase price to fix it? I've been reading of VF Engineering and Dinan using things like a resistor on the MAF to give it more headroom. What were the issues you were fixing?

Emailed more w/ the seller lastnight and we came to an agreement that he'll give me half a refund once he gets a tracking number, then the other half once he receives the kit. I'm still going to wait until Monday to talk to my bank and eBay/Paypal to see about how I go about protecting myself for fear of giving him a tracking number, my supercharger is sitting on some plane and then the guy disappears on me.

Ultimately I'd rather order this - http://www.ebay.com/itm/151139486435...ht_2560wt_1362, have it send directly to my buddy who'd port match and polish everything from the SC to the factory inlets and plenum, but that's really going to come down to how the refund all pans out. My buddy used an awesome shop, http://speedfactoryracing.net/, about an hour away for custom intercooler work on his Vortech unit that he's installing on his E34 540 w/ an M62 swap, so I'd probably have them make adapters and then just backwards engineer the eBay guys kit.

I had my buddy take a look at the kit today with me and we discussed what'd we'd do if push comes to shove and I'm forced to keep it...send the supercharger out for rebuild and porting for $300, how I'd Dremel the topside of the mounting kit to clean up the slag, open the port to have it match the outlet of the SC and seal the interal intercooler within and then open the square ports where the injectors go to more closely have them match the ovaled ports on our heads.

Exactly dude he is going to try to rip you off. You need to protect yourself somehow here.

Too bad that kit is so far below expectation. It looks like a 2nd hand parts bin screwed together in a shed. I mean for 4k you'd at least expect things to be powerdercoated, not spray can finish. (and sloppy mig welding)

(and spraying the sc helix wheels and the throttle body....omg)

I don't know what's wise, sending it back or not. Tricky situation.

As for mounting a jag sc on the 540i:

Would be an interesting project (It looks the part imho)

Options? What fuc**** options? I have the right head unit, just the wrong installer. After 60 miles I had a frayed belt the took out my hood insulation. Why? The head unit wae 1/4" off! My "tune" was in the 17's AFR (red) my new tires were flat spotted, belt buckle nick on right front fender, missing hid bulbs, paid for but not installed Miller War chip, coolant hose missing(coolant poured over my ignition coils) A/C bracket missing bolt, I can go on and on, but I will stop here as you all get my drift.

I do but I'm just pointing out there are vortech based setups running well on M62's and S62's.

Sounds like the $2000 I paid for my engine swap that turned into a trainwreck - http://www.lightningrodder.com/forum...d.php?t=104684

Agreed, but two completely different power deliveries. I'd rather make a roots setup work.

I'm not sure what you mean in your post. Have you attempted to install it? You can see by my pics that my kit is useless.

Not yet doing a few things like cleaning up the welds making the intake to head gasket better just gotta make the kit a little better the price for the kit is so expensive for the quality of it but at least there's something to work off of and make it better no way in hell am I going to use the stock fuel injectors the guy says you can but I say no I drag race a 11sec turbo car and fuel is everything you run lean kiss the engine goodbye I'm gonna run 32lb injectors a guy from ess tuning told me the car will run fine as long as I use bigger injectors and the FCD on the mass air sensor

I'm attempting to get a refund on my kit, but eventually when I sort things out, I'm going to install an M5 fuel pump (no tuning required), then I've got 32# injectors (will require tuning) from a buddies VF Engineering kit and then having to figure out how to make them work.

I'm looking forward to seeing you make this happen but you have quite a bit of work ahead of you.

Lots of work it will be. But now after seeing m5james supercharger not even line up with his heads wtf. So now I'm gonna have to take my intake off and see if the damn thing is gonna line up properly. The work to make this a good reliable working kit doesn't bother me but damn it's gotta match up with the intake bolts in the heads if not might as well hang it on a wall or put it on the coffee table for a conversation piece. For the price I expected much better work better instructions but hey if bolt holes line up its game on then I will make this kit work lol! Every body is probably scratching their head and laughing hey this guy is nuts it won't work lol well maybe I am but nothing wrong with wanting something different making it work and making it better

Nah nobody thinks you are crazy. Determined perhaps.

So after explaining to about 10 different people at Wells Fargo, making 3 follow-up calls in regards to getting a refund, they tell me that can't help me get a refund and just pointed the finger right back at PayPal...after PayPal told me to call my own bank. Being SC'd for Bimmerfest is out and I'm busy enough redoing the suspension and installing coilovers on my X5, so after things calm down, I'm going to look further to see if this trainwreck can be made to work. Honestly w/ how far off the alignment is on mounting plate between the ports and the bolt holes to hold the assembly down, the bolts holding up the entire weight of that SC, etc I'm not sure what'll come of it yet. Nevertheless, I've got a $4200 paperweight sitting in my garage...fingers crossed I can save it.

Paypal won't help you. I'm not sure why but they are evil.

So what in the world are you going to do?

Damn it man why did you have to buy this thing.

At this point I don't really have a choice but to make it work. I'd feel bad if I tried selling it off onto someone else unless I knew they had the mechanical skills to pull it off, but even w/ that said I don't know how to weld, how it needs to be plumbed, etc because everything I've done before was a truly well-made kit w/ detailed instruction vs this being a hackjob of parts and confusing instructions.

I bought it because I had faith in this guys videos (hindsight makes me wish I'd asked for a video of idling and then driving away sooner vs only idling and nothing more), then being familiar w/ the SC itself, I thought it'd be a stones throw away from what I'm running currently in my other truck since it came w/ an Eaton M112 as well. I knew there'd be some tweaking to make it work better, ie upgrading the fuel pump and eventually injectors / tuning, but what I recevied is wildly different and something that can't even be bolted on in it's current condition.
