2014 BMW F36 4-Series Gran Coupe spotted with minimal camouflage - Spyphotos, pictures

Yes, BMW is mirroring the Gran Coupe formula used on the 6-Series with the 4-Series. It is yet another model variant squeezed in but fortunately one much better looking than the F34 3-Series GT. Since this vehicle is considered a coupe despite having four doors it will have the 4-Series moniker. Will it eat into F30 3-Series sales? Due to premium pricing compared to the 3-Series just like the 6-Series versus the 5-Series it will likely find a small niche considering its big brothers success.

Expect to see the production version ready for 2014 and for the official debut soon. Possibly as early as the Los Angeles Auto Show. Enjoy the pictures below.

Proportions aren't sleek. ... it has a D pillar??!! Looks like a four door notchback with that rear axle-to-pillar ratio and short trunk lid. Is this supposed to be a faux A7? Why does it look like a 3 series GT?

This will work guys. The 6 Gran Coupe has already shown that.

It makes much more sense than the GT pile of crap.

Sure it'll work. It has a BMW badge and to the "normal" people (not car enthusiasts) that means it's a very sporty and light sports sedan ehm sports gran coupe of course! I always ask myself why people buy the New (Heavy) BMWs, only because of the badge?

I think a large part is the badge and the prestige or whatever. To me the BMW brand is now so watered down the pride of ownership is not what it once was. Especially with an M vehicle.

It is sometimes hard to believe this is a BMW enthusiasts site. Or is it?

I am waiting to order the convertible version.
