POLL: Should I do a High End Audio System?

Since the widebody kit for the 335i won't be released till next summer at the earliest,
Should I do an ultra high end audio install?

Zapco 1100.1 ---> Single 10 inch sub in a nice enclosure
Zapco 200.2 ---> Zapco Reference Speakers up front with custom kick panels

Goal would be to compete for SQ in USACi.

    What is the USACi?

Not even familiar with Zapco, I'm guessing that is good stuff though if you are going to be competing with it.

    Well I don't know yet.

USACi runs all the SQ competitions.

I'm debating what to do now.

Would you be doing the install yourself? If so the investment would be fractions of the hypothetical widebodies (y's?) at least from everyone I've talked to.

I would be doing the install myself. IN fact, I fiberglassed a box in the downtime without my car.

    Let me find a pic.

These are the three boxes I made.

NOte: The color is G35 Caribbean Blue. Was experimenting with that flake. I would paint these flat black.

I am only going to be using one box. Wasn't too sure if I wanted to do a side mount or rear mount.

    Yea,
    But what side?
Left side, right side, or towards the back?

Well the corner loading principle should help you compete. Whichever side floats your boat/leaves room for your meth tank imho.

heres what I had in my 335i. its a 15 inch kicker completely enclosed in a plexis glass box with a port right above it to throw all the bass inside and only inside the car. my head lights would shake a little bit from the bass Click here to enlarge but i took everything out becus it was too heavy......how i miss it Click here to enlarge

    ^^MOAR.

Im only looking to do a Single Ten inch sub with a zapco 1100.1 @ 1 ohm and then CDT upstage in custom kicks with a zapco 200.2 and custom amp rack.

That isn't going to add too much weight, but it depends entirely on the sub I use.

Really dig RE Audio's stuff so maybe I can call them tomorrow.

My mistake, I was under the impression meth was coming eventually and most people throw the tank in the trunk. Still voting for the side mount.

    Don't like JE,

The box is tuned for an Eclipse Ti 10 inch. But those are like 55 lbs each.
