    335i fftec single turbo + jb4

Anyone running the single turbo with jb4 tune?
    any problems with o2 sensors?
keep the oem boost solenoid or use the solenoid of the kit?

im planning to buy the single turbo kit and use jb4 tune.

Pretty sure some sort of flash tune is also needed, but yes a BMS stack tune on of these would be cool to see.

I would love to see Terry work some magic on this set-up as well! I haven't heard of anyone taking a chance and doing this yet. There is probably a contract to every single kit purchased that says Shiv can repo any kit if tuned by Terry! Lol

Agreed, I think the upgraded twins with the tuning solutions we have now are just going to run better and longer despite the mechanical simplicity of a single turbo rather than twins. The DME just expects the o2 sensors to be separate and we need to accommodate that.

I agree but would be nice to see all the combos to have as much data as possible before making a decision.

It probably wasn't the Fftech setup though but a custom single turbo I think.

I'm pretty sure AK335, Roy Cromier, and of course myself are all using something other than Vishnu. I actually do remember someone purchaing the Fftec kit and stating they were going to tune with Cobb, but don't remember who it was. Never heard anything after that, so maybe they decided to just stick with the Vish.

It's a harsh environment so placement is key. The sensors are made to withstand relatively high EGT's, but they will fail quickly if also subjected to extreme radiant heat. I under estimated the affects of the radiant heat on my first manifold and had issues with the rear O2 sensor burning up every couple of weeks. I imagine if the FFtech manifold had any issues with this, they would have made a revision by now so there's probably nothing to worry about.

It was a guy named something like jb's335 or close to that....He had bought FFTEC hardware and was interested in tuning it with either Cobb or JB4 G5 at the time...but he decided to go with Shivs tuning due to no certainty from the aforementioned tunes...He has a post on e90post about having 100k+ tuned on stock turbos...and a couple small updates since the single turbo conversion

Just posting bc couple posted above were curious...Multiquote wasnt working for me or else I would quote them too

Oh, and regarding the JB4, I am currently running it with the latest hex that that the twin turbo guys run, so it's pretty versatile. I was using flash only for a couple of weeks and I got it working well. However, there is an 18.5 psi limit in the DME that Cobb is working to disable, so I am currently running my own back-end flash stacked with JB4 at 20-21 psi (but will be pushing boost higher in the near future).
