Wait a second, am I reading this write?

There is now speculation that @LostMarine raced a VT2-650 with race fuel and won?!

My "theory" (basically reached by what I've read about S65 tuning) is that the ESS tune is setup running too aggressive, thus not achieving it's timing target and in fact harming performance because the DME is retarding timing instead. Evolve, who's got probably the best N/A tune for the S65, has possibly the best understanding on the S65 and tuning it, those making more power with a very modest amount of boost from the Rotrex, by perfecting the VANOS, Timing Targets, Fueling, etc.
I very much doubt the ESS car is running too much timing.

The differences are more likely down to consistent power delivery and that Rotrex being very efficient. On LM's production kit it's being under spun by quite some bit. We run an FMIC for a reason. It was an absolute nightmare to do but we feel it's well worth it. We can drive our cars hard run after run after run on the road and the performance is very stable. Intake temperatures recovery very well indeed.

Thanks for your kind words on our tuning! Nice to see someone appreciating what correct tuning can do.

Such magnificent scenery yet none of my NY friends have been there... I am sure if Montana was an island off France or Italy every American would have been.... I am going next May (late) for 2 weeks......

I have driven through 43 US states.. time to do the last 5 in the lower 48 (Montana, WY, OR, WAS, ND, SD)... such a magnificent country...
