    the .bin file is pretty much a copy of your dme, you will need a .xdf file and patch that file to your .bin with tuner pro to make a tune.. I may be incorrect but the .bin files posted to download will work only if you already have a JB4.
    That clears it up some. I'd rep you if I could, but I can't.

    So for OTS maps like cobb or OFT, how do you upload those "maps" onto the car?

    Sorry, and thank you once again for all your guys' explanation!

    @1chanc3 you have to read your ecu with the flasher.. Upload your Original.bin into tunerpro and patch the .xdf ( OTS or OFT normally in .XDF) after that you save your Tuned.BIN somewhere. then write with the awesome flasher Bimmerboost has provided

    I would take the Reps if you could lol that would be nice. Hard to get those over here. haha

    @Marz

    Hey Thanks for your help! Based on what you told me, I kind of understand the logistics of tuning. I'd rep you more if I could. I'll give you a rain check haha. I'm sure your explanation will also help others.

    Now time to get turnerpro and play around with the BB Flash!! Hopefully I don't brick my DME! lol

    It is not condoned to steal map tunes from closed tuning platforms like Cobb. In fact that will be a rule which is enforced here. In fact everyone should focus on xdf creation and exploration and making their own tunes. That's what this is about.

    I completely agree. I was just asking for clarification. I mean no disrespect.

    That's what its all about. Tuning and adjusting your own DME. I wouldn't mess with that myself on my car though, i'm not a tuner. That's why I use Terry's back end flash with my jb4 and it runs great.

    I mean I suppose it's simply reading and writing the ECU so it's free flashing if you want to look at it that way.

    @klipseracer If you want to put my stock bin in the downloads section for anyone who needs a stock Australian file, it's ok with me.

    Not many Aus users around so it can be hard to find someone with one.

    You can upload the file yourself and Sticky can approve it. Label the file appropriately with the rom type and stock.

    Should the transmission type be mentionned for the stock BINs uploads? Because some of the files released by Terry have 2 versions (AT and MT). In other words, do the MT and AT cars have the same ROMs?

    I say mention as many details as possible. I assume roms are the same.

    Wow, if that level of ethics were observed at the flash Tablet forums, they would have no tunes to load, other than each other's stock or PPK flash. Click here to enlarge Click here to enlarge Click here to enlarge

    ROM is the same for AT, MT, & DCT as far as I can tell. But that doesn't mean the tuning strategy is the same. Consult with your tuner as needed.
