    Official - The 2014 BMW F82 BMW M4 design revealed early, pictures/photos

    Many saw a leaked image make the rounds on the internet yesterday of a yellow M4. The image was not a fake and here it is, your 2014 F82 M4 revealed before its official public debut at the Pebble Beach Concourse d'Elegance this weekend. So how does the car look? In a word, great. Nothing over the top here BMW is playing it safe. The hood has the power dome that became a staple of the M3's design with the E46 M3 and has the carbon roof from the E92 although is seen here with M color stripes for a nice touch.

    The sideskirts follow the E92 design. The front bumper takes inspiration from the 1M and is immediately recognizable as M. This brings us to the rear of the car where the taillights ditch the amber of the F32 4-Series (thankfully) and the car retains the quad exhaust setup the E46 M3 and E92 M3's brought us. Most importantly, the controversial 'bimmerrang' side vent received a redesign for the M version that looks much more like the E9X M setup. It just looks better.

    The car is a solid design and looks great. Now the question becomes what the official specifications would be. A 450 horsepower S55 turbocharged inlnie-6 mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission is expected. If BMW can drop the weight significantly, that may be enough. We will have to wait and see.

    I love it, the details are beautiful and I hope they make it to production. The carbon exhaust tips, the color-matched calipers, and the M stripes on the roof are prefect touches. I'm hoping for at least 450 hp, any less and I'd be disappointed.

    Amber is dated. Reason why it goes on the base models and not the real ones.

    I don't know how I feel about the hood other than that I don't care how it performs this is beautiful. The only eye sore will be that number 4 on the back

    great looking car. Does the S55 engine terminology scare anyone though? To me it means hopped up N55 (see N63/S63). Yes the S63 puts out almost 100 more HP than the N63TU, but is the S63 truly an M motor? IDK. It certainly is a fabulous motor, so is the N63TU though. Is the new M4 motor going to be an N55 on steroids? I'm guessing it is.

    Looks great! I can't wait to hear the final performance numbers. I wouldn't worry about it being a hopped up n55, IMO BMW just is making better entry level motors. The s55 won't disappoint. Let's say it's 450hp, and it's close to as tunable as the n54. So throw a tune and FBO's and be 550-580hp? I'll take it!

    This is basically production. The E92 M3 concept translated completely and so will this.

    It will be a hopped up N55 as it will have Valvetronic and yes it scares me.

    The S63 IS an M motor. The S55 will be an M motor as well. The N54 in the 1M is not.

    I don't know what happened to the BMW crowd that now it's about HP and not the driving experience. This IMO will never be a great M car.

    It will still be of similar displacement so limited but by nature of being turbo it will be tunable. It just won't match the S54 or S65 as far as all out potential.
