It's not a logging tool so can't do anything active like that.

TunerPro RT (different download than normal TunerPro, same program but additional features, has a 10second nag window unless you donate) has active cell tracing. But not for the N54. I used it all the time on my other cars with chip emulators.

I would love to see what cells the DME touches when timing takes a dump on the 6ATs. I am very surprised Cobb hasn't done something of the sort to get this issue resolved. Maybe someday.

Yeah, I downloaded the RT version and get the stupid window because I'm too cheap to donate the $39. I thought it had an emulator for the tune but it doesn't work.

It works, just not for the N54, and it is unlikely it ever will. To use the emulator you need a chip emulator soldered onto the DME itself, and the emulator will work in place of the solid state flash memory chip. It is really common on older cars http://www.moates.net/ostrich-20-the...eed-p-169.html

What you will be able to do with RT at some point in the future is dataloging I bet though. It has an excellent interface for logging if someone gets the protocols sorted.

There was somebody working on a plugin for canbus logging at some point in the past iirc (for an Evo maybe?) but it never went anywhere. I've only ever datalogged OBDI and OBDII with it successfully, specific to certain cars/computers, and only used emulation for older GM stuff. It's awesome when it works right but would be very difficult to implement properly I'd imagine.

TunerPro is pretty ancient. But it works great for what it does. But what it does for us (and most cars) is just modify the BIN. Now @bigdnno98 if your DSM is a 1G you can rig it up to work with a realtime trace with a chip emulator, but most people typically go for the more common (and more expensive) DSM link for fancy features. Hell if you have a 1G or a 2G with a socketed ECU you can flash tune the DSM for about $15 and a chip burner for anything you want really, even speed density conversions.

I have a 2g with link v3. I tune most local cars with ecuflash on black box ecus. I really just want it to tweak back end maps for local guys similar to what wedge and yourself do.
