Seems like Gintani builds some serious cars. Nice kill!, but I've also heard they've blown quite a few motors as well as their in-shop tuning can be crazy aggressive. Some of their video's on youtube prove it. I just hope they are shop cars and not customer cars as I'd be pissed if they just sat there and kept my car at redline to do an exhaust video.....

Nope, I actually do my own research first. Doesn't mean they're a bad shop in any way. Just saying they're aggressive, not sure many dispute that. Have they blown motors? Gintani won't deny that. Were they probably mostly stock motors being pushed to the limits? Sure, nothing wrong with that either if you plan on rebuilding the motor anyway and want to see what it handles.

And how would me dealing directly with them have to do with whether or not they've blown motors? Push cars to the limit and things happen. Pretty simple, no reason to be defensive.

Figured I should mention this...I was originally shopping for an M3 before a 335i, and was very intrigued with Gintani and their work. Probably woulda been them or AA if I woulda went with the M3 for aftermarket work, so don't think I'm trying to badmouth, i'm not, my apologies if it came off that way. (still thinking about doing it, but waiting to see what happens with the n54 in next 6 months first)

Hey Guys, I will get all the videos edited by tonight hopefully and post them up. The ESS car was strong possibly down some power that night since my buddy ran him in his fbo 335 100% meth and 100% race gas and kept up. But there will plenty more runs between my car and some ESS cars there pretty popular out here in Toronto. Anyway stay tuned .. they should be up by tomorrow.

On a side note if you see our 2nd gear take off, you will see we were neck and neck till I hit third gear... so who knows if its down power or not.

I find these results a bit confusing given data presented if the cars are 100% as described. Yesterday we were at the Bimmercruise show up here in Canada and they had a mobile Dynojet setup. Among other cars a Gintani Stage 2 S65 went on and did 495whp STD on our 94 Sunoco octane, no meth. Then an ESS-625 car went on and same octane it did 525whp. My car on pump/meth did 505whp with the one-off set of stock hybrids that I have now. How does a Stg2 Gintani car just pull like that on an ess650 car unless something is either wrong with the ess car or does the driver of the ess car really really suck driving it?

Outside of that, it was nice to see just how much more power under the curve the N54 had over both of the S65 setups. Would be nice to see a race against both S65 setups one day..
