How to tell how many VINs left on BT cable

I tried looking it up on the manual and through google but to no avail.

I just purchased a BT cable from a person online and he said he wasn't sure how many VINs were left on the cable, if any (I was fine with that).
upon plugging it into the car and booting the program, it does not ask for VIN input. Instead it just detected the DME model, and it gave me a drop down list of various cars to select from. I just selected bmw 3-series e9x (2006-2009), even though my car is a 2010. And from there it just jumped straight to the diagnostics page. No more input asked. I looked at the instructions and they showed several more selection boxes and pop ups that I didn't get. Does that mean something?

Is there anyway for me to check how many VINs I have left on the cable?

Also, this might be a stupid question, but can I use different laptops with my car? I used my dad's laptop to test the cable, but plan to use my own laptop once I get it back. Would there be any problems with connecting the BT cable with my laptop even though it has already "connected" with my dad's?

    Appreciate it.

I think I know a way to check, but it requires the flasher and custom code. But it sounds like your software may work. Might want to try and do some diagnostics functions first. The cable is married to the car, doesn't matter which computer you use.

Is there a help menu with a sub menu that says "about Bavaraian technic" or something to that extent? You could probably just email BT tech support.

Only BT can do that while connected to them.

I would like to give a brief update after I finally had sometime to play around with the software and my car.

With the BT cable plugged into the car and the laptop, Under "Tools" tab there is a "tool information" tab. Click on that. That is it.

So this is what I see when I do that...

Does that mean that there has only been 2 VINs connected to the cable?! If so, I got a steal for $30! (I bought it from someone who assumed there was no VINs left)

If there's one VIN left, how do I go about adding my car into that list? I have tried adding my info, but that doesn't save. Anyone have any ideas?

Yes, either 1 vin was used if you have been using the cable, or two have been used if you have not been fully using the cable.

Yep, just played around and added my VIN to the list (so now it shows 3 VINs)! Guess I got a sweet deal for $30!
Thank you all for your help. Now I just need to figure out how to use the BB flash and learn how to tune.... Click here to enlarge

It may be that the code clearing aspect may be the locked portion as opposed to the code checking part. But IDK.

    you're lucky, lostmarine.

    To me yes I lock.

I can clear codes of more cars, but can´t see action in real time (voltage, turbo pressure, etc. ..) in the cars that the bt don´t recording before.

I've used my enthusiast cable (bought from Terry) on six of my latest cars. After using up all my vins i contacted BT and asked them if I could upgrade the cableor buy more VIN's from them. I was really surprised when the support told me that they could reset my cable for FREE! Click here to enlarge Ten minutes later I had three new VIN-slots! Click here to enlarge

I'm really impressed by the level of customer service from Bavarian Technic! Click here to enlarge

I've cleared codes on other platforms (non-E9x) and it hasn't locked to their VIN.
