I mean, even with the sidebar hidden, there's still 3 inches on each side. Pretty much blank space. I think you may have it that way for mobile/iPad viewing? I have to zoom up to 150% on Chrome to get rid of the void space.

You are using a font that FF doesn't have or something along those lines I guess. Chrome works but FF doesn't which I would guess most people use. As a side note it doesn't work in IE either.

this new theme is really messy and bubbly - the last one was really clean at least

bad kerning, bad line spacing.. it's like everything has 1.5-2x line spacing, and double spaces after every button etc.

i can see where some of the appeal is, but it's lost it's 'efficiency' and 'compactness' which was already slipping away with some past updates...

any option to change themes? i can't stand it (and can't find an option)

it's all grey and white and bright and i like black lol

i only have stuff straight in the middle 1/3 of my screen now, either side is just blank except for a tiny sliver of stuff on the right right at the top

chrome Version 28.0.1500.95 m and it's really blech

but i want the sidebar still

and there's still.. 3 inches blank on the left, 2-2.5 on the right even with the sidebar gone.

and this is only on a laptop at 1600*900 (17" screen)... putting it on the 24" at 1920*1080 and there's about 4 kilometers either side.

ED: and i browse on an iphone 4(s) and never had a single problem with the old site either haha

if this is for 100% keeps though (Click here to enlarge)

    >FORUM>SITE FUNCTIONS>FORUM ANNOUNCEMENTS, SUPPORT, RULES, AND FEEDBACK>LOVE

looks terrible and unclear at the top

having the thread title in it's own image (like an advertisement panel) is also no good (above the vendor ads, below the thread/forum pathing).. huge and funny looking

neaten it up, remove the funny looking bits, widen and compress the main thread area for desktop use (most people are on computers browsing over mobile/tablet right?)... and it'd suck less... if there's an easy way to offer the option to darken it (i use all my forums/reddit in darker themes when possible, easy on the eyes lol), that'd be cool after everything else Click here to enlarge

further to the layout side of things>

having the bimmerboost/*boost logo directly below front and center (above the thread pathing)

well it's the wrong resolution, the top left and right are empty

the home/forum/what's new stuff is too small and lonely

basically EVERYTHING needs to be 'more compact'

there's too much wasted space, and ill-fitting images/boxes

Yes, there is no wasted space on cell phones / tablets now it loads full screen.

The 'wasted' space can be used for additional ads, or I can add a background, or who knows what. It's just a more modern look as resolutions get higher you aren't missing any forum content by any means.

I mean Autoblog is the exact same thing:

Resolutions are getting higher. I'm on 1920x1080. How is this any different from blogs you read that have space on the sides? Why does space on the side even bother you?

I don't like dark, it's hard on the eyes. This is nice and clean. I like it. You'll get used to it.

What exactly bothers you about it being thinner?

Text isn't normally an issue but larger post with embedded pics and walls of text become harder to deal with. I understand it auto embeds and resizes but it makes them to small and then you need click on them all in order to see details.

    Just my 2c of course.

With the previous layout, pictures were resized to much smaller than the width. If I turn off image resizing, pics will be larger inline now and you will be able to click to see full screen. I can even add a nice applet to where you can click a pic and scroll through all the pics in the thread without needing to click each one.

With text it looks much cleaner right? It also makes blog posts look more professional and not so spaced out. Basically, when I write a paragraph it looks like a paragraph now.
