Video of the F23 2-Series (235i?) testing on the Nurburgring

The F22/F23 2-Series will be the spiritual successor to the BMW E82/E88 1-Series in the United States. The good news is that the 2-Series will have a cabriolet F23 variant in addition to the F22 coupe and this will be the entry level and affordable BMW convertible. This is likely the 235i testing meaning it will have an N55 turbocharged and direct injected 3.0 liter six cylinder under the hood likely with the same 320 horsepower output as the 135i.

There will also be a hotter M235i variant which should have some software tweaks along with revised bodywork and suspension. The F22/F23 is poised to be a lightweight, fun, and affordable (for BMW) car. Despite its entry level position, it may offer the most driving pleasure out of anything in the BMW lineup. Check out the video below.

This will at least be one of the better drivers cars coming from BMW. Lightweight, manual option, rear wheel drive, affordable, fun. What a BMW once was.

Well 1 series and 2 series are basically the same size and weight but I get your point.

@Sticky yeah but like you said I made my point lol but on a serious note I can apart live with a 4 series but a 2 series just sounds stupid... It doesn't roll off the tongue like other series names. I'm sure this car will be nice on a track ( for 2 laps until it overheats and goes into limp mode)

2-Series does sound stupid but whatever. At least this will be a good car I can't say that about many BMW's these days.

Let's just be happy they aren't doing an i2.

I thought BMW introduced the 2 series so they could merge the 1 series and the Mini fwd lineup. It's all heresy in my book.

The next generation 1-Series will ride the Mini platform.

Imagine how it feels to be this guy when he wakes up in the morning knowing he gets to race cars in driving utopia for a living? I honor him and those like him for living the dream for those of us who live normal lives.
