We still have a lot to see from these '7XX' N54's. Shiv struggled with a supercharged M3 on stock internals so....

So anyone definitively know what it is? Alpina can do basically anything so an N55 with twins is no sweat. Pics show an N55.

If anyone has fueling upgrades working perfectly and like OEM it's Alpina.

    Alpinas website says two turbos.

    Here:

THE NEW BMW ALPINA B3 BITURBO

The foundation that Burkard Bovensiepen laid in the 1960s in the form of a performance-enhanced BMW 1500, has since developed into a permanent fixture in the luxury sports car segment. What were then the first technologically and qualitatively relevant products marketed by ALPINA, namely four-cylinder petrol engines with Weber dual carburetors in the BMW Neue Klasse, are now in modern form high-tech automobiles. Equipped from the outset with the best possible genes by BMW, they currently represent the ultimate in performance, comfort, ‘driving culture’ and efficiency.

The new BMW ALPINA B3 Bi-Turbo combines these characteristics like no other automobile before it. The straight-six 3.0 litre engine equipped with two turbochargers delivers 410hp and a maximum torque of 600Nm. The adaptive ALPINA sport suspension system and the 8-Speed Sport-Automatic transmission with ALPINA SWITCH-TRONIC deliver maximum comfort and impressive dynamics. Functional aerodynamics combine well with the trademark 20” ALPINA CLASSIC wheels and together with two elliptical double tailpipes create an elegant appearance. The new BMW ALPINA B3 Bi-Turbo accelerates from 0 to 100km/h (0 - 62mph) in just 4.2 seconds, reaching a top speed of 305km/h (190mph). When driven moderately, it consumes significantly less than 10 litres of Super plus (98 RON) per 100km and achieves a class-leading combined fuel consumption measured to ECE norm of just 7.6l/100km and 177g/km CO2 (Saloon RWD).
    *
These extraordinary performance figures are also available for friends of all-wheel drive. The new BMW ALPINA B3 Bi-Turbo Allrad utilises the proven possibilities of the excellent BMW xDrive system and offers unparalleled levels of traction and driving dynamics.

It definitely looks N55 where the oil filler is and the way the airbox isn't in the normal N54 location.

It looks to me like they took an N55 and then put 2 turbos on it, the intake and intake plumbing is completely different, looks more like the N54 setup where the turbo intake pipes go around the engine instead of over the engine. Seems like a lot of work to convert an N55 back to 2 turbos.

For Alpina it isn't a lot of of work. They swap out of the N63 turbos and pistons for the B5/B6/B7.

    Incorrect, sir.

N55 oil fill cap is passenger side front of engine cover. N54 oil fill cap is dead center, between cyl. 2 and 3

You forget about the s54? Sure BMW doesn't use them but they are still produced and used by other car manufactures. The n54 is great and IMO the best turbo BMW engine but still not 2jz worthy. The s54 and 2jz are both in another class. Also the s63 is overrated

Yes they do. They're the only car manufacturer who is officially allowed to use BMW engines, besides Alpina. Wiesmanns are awesome cars, combining classic design with state-of-the art engines. Lately the company has been in financial troubles though, with the general decline of the car market, including the luxury share.

They have always used BMW m engines. Their flagship mf5 used the s85 until for a short time but had to switch over to the s63. Just goes to show how great the s54 was it lasted from like 1999- 2011, no other BMW engine to my knowledge had a run close to that.
