    BT cable (noob) question

    Hi All,

First off, I'm a car noob.
I was looking to purchase a BT cable and while searching through Ebay, I came across this one:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-Service-...d77ec3&vxp=mtr

In the description it says that it with 1996-2009 3 series cars. I didn't know BT cables were locked down to certain years? I thought it only had to be OBDII?
If the description is true, which BT should I get for my 2010 car then?

    Thanks in advanced.

Nvm the description, the BT cable will support all N54 cars as they all share the MSD80/81 DME . I have a 2011 335is and the cable works just fine

Please note, if you buy a BT cable, and all three VINs are already used, you will not be able to use the BT software for logging on your car. The cable will still work with the open source flash utility, however, but without logging you will be tuning blind.

This is what I have read as well. I just want a BT cable for the BB flash. I'm hoping I can find one without any VINs left for super cheap just for this purpose.

What would the word "new" imply? Like a new design of BT cable or just newly manufactured (but with old design)? The lower the price, the better! I'm all in for group buys!

As in, a lower price. Stay tuned. There is also another piece of pretty cool bluetooth capable hardware on the horizon Click here to enlarge, a little birdie told me. Then again, that may have been the acid. The best part of having a BT with at least one vin left, is you can log properly. Its good logging software, not to mention all the diagnostic stuff it can do.

Exactly, definitely worth the money considering what you get.
