I love dubs and had a k04 mk6 but some of the claims on golfmk6.com are downright laughable; especially the assertion that a k04=power levels in my 1er. However, to the untrained eye to my setup and that higher e85 contents without supporting fueling mods can actually rob power, I can see how it would be chalked up to a kill with the notion that BMW owners are dick heads etc. This platform is scary fast, and those vids aren't in any way indicative of how my car really performs with proper fueling. The numbers really have to be spot on to make the most and I should have stayed at e30 but got cocky.

Yea I have some tinkering to do with my car as well. Stucks was running the same map7 that managed me 123.9 at capitol while I was running a custom map6 with meth and on this night Stucks car appeared stronger. I am going to try dialing boost down a tiny bit closer to map7 levels and see if it responds better.

What's up Chris? Yeah man with my car it's at the point where I don't even post much online anymore. I just sit back, do some dynos, buy some mods, and drive hard sometimes. I will try to provide more videos because A. I enjoy them and I'm making nice power on my particular platform and B. there are some good cars to run in my area. I don't know what my plans are with the 1er from here on out. She's fast, scary fast. However, I need to budget a clutch, tires, and other mods. I'll probably slap a FMIC on and it call it a day as it is very easy to get into trouble with this car speed wise and danger wise. These ECU's are also very very finnicky. I have discussed it ad nauseum with fellow members. The car doesn't like to be $#@!ed with computer wise and really fights back with the tune. However, it does shine and when it does it is an instant 400+whp on demand with zero lag. Time will tell as I have 60k on the odometer and I drive it hard.

Dude this car is honestly a time bomb in terms of reliability. It performs differently with every tank of gas I put in it. I don't have doubts about my fueling system yet but I foresee a lot of money spent on a clutch, injectors, spark plugs, and coil packs in the near future. I'm really at a crossroads on what I want to do with it. I can either put more aftermarket things on it and make 15+ more whp or really tighten up the loose ends that come with owning a BMW maintenance wise. I think the next few months will see tires, plugs, and maybe trying to get BMW to give me some goodwill on a clutch install. Their OEM clutches are only 350$ and to be honest, the BOV and charge pipe along with a few other bolt ons are all I have left. A really good meth setup in this car is going to cost boku bucks. Not to mention she probably needs valve cleaning. Who knows, a lot of things swimming in my head right now.

is it an '08 or '09?
if anything revert it back to stock and trade it in for one with lower miles, or even a 335 that's still in CPO warranty for a year or two.

Well I think coming from the school of though with the n54 platform being a time bomb I'm hesitant to keep going deeper into the modding route with it. I don't think I'll ever sell this car, and have been advised not to do so by everyone that sees it/drives it/rides in it. It is truly a work of art and I really appreciate it. However, I might just invest in keeping the OEM units running flawlessly and maybe get a set of wheels. There are very few times I can really use the potential of 400+ ponies on the road. It's cool to bark by cars with my exhaust or make girls wet when I drive by but I will never go the route I did with my GTI. That is why I'm at a crossroads with it, I really hate to see it get bastardized and I feel that if I keep ripping $#@! out of it and putting aftermarket $#@! back in I'll really regret it. Pipes and tunes and intercoolers I don't care about but I really want to start taking care of it instead of running it into the ground so people on forums can argue.

Every time i've tried brake boosting, I mess up horribly. My brembo's are super sensitive for such a light car. It's hard to do, I just need practice.

ever think of running a boost controller? I know Sammy with the GIAC BT and JR with the UNI BT are both running them.

Zach has a progressive boost controller I believe. And yeah, I heard about GK, I wonder if the oil starvation issue came into play or what. Gone are the days where I'm replacing turbos, I'm just going to buy a car that can produce the numbers I want with the stock engine and snails.

Dude I just got some direzzas 101's today off tire rack so I'm not running two different tires on the back anymore. I'm hyped, 255's are back. Plugs are getting changed tonight too. She needs some TLC.

We should all meet at a bar and grab dinner soon so we are all in one location and then go run. Do you know of any airstrips in NOVA that we could chip in to rent? That would be epic.

yep i only go there to check classifieds, the meth and big turbo threads. everything else is just typical "will a flash void my warranty" and "which filter on a stick is best?" or "totally go with the intercooler for APR, it's certainly a $1000 better than the godspeed $#@!"
